Getting back on track.

Saturday, April 27, 2013

As a member of the BLC Challenge, I've really been half-assing this challenge. I haven't been paying attention to what I'm eating (not really, anyway), and exercise has been non-existent. Today is the day I'm kicking myself in the butt and getting my head back in the game. How can I expect to see results if I don't put in the effort?

Today I dusted off the WiiFit and did 35 minutes -- and it was tough! I've got a lot to do, but I've started.

You can do this! I've been there before, slipping up, slipping in, just don't ever give up!

GOOD FOR YOU! You know, I realized last year that progress could also be measured in the length of time it takes me to stop starting over. Seriously. It used to take years. Then months. Then weeks. Finally, I'm down to days. One day, it will just be second-nature and starting over will be a thing of the past.

So, consider this progress - because it truly is. Enjoy your workout TOMORROW!

Thinking of you, hang in there, keep fighting. I believe in you.

Guys, I had a really good moment this morning. Every Friday, a couple of coworkers and I go to a local coffee shop to get breakfast. They have deeeeelicious breakfast sandwiches, of course, none of which particularly healthy. My favorite being the steak, egg, and cheese sandwich. It comes on a big fat roll, and is slathered in mayo. Itís quite tasty. I was determined to have one, but I was also determined to make it healthier. (I had ALREADY told myself I wasnít getting a latte, because those are an absolute explosion of calories.) So I got egg whites instead of eggs, and no mayo. Good life choices, right?

It gets better. I decided about half way through the sandwich that I was only going to eat half. I wrapped up the rest, and tossed it. Itís still not healthy healthy, but it was good, and I found that I really only needed half (eating the whole sandwich makes me comatose the rest of the day). Just thought I would share with you all, since you are the people that would understand.

And so went my first blog post. emoticon

Great job! I do eat mayo now, but I make sure to count it in my calories. I'm so glad that you are eating mindfully and was able to stop yourself when you are full. The best bit of advice someone gave a few months ago was that when you ate when you were full, you're still wasting food. It was great advice to a clean plate club member. :-P

Great job! I think thats the key to doing this and not feeling deprived- finding ways to eat favorites, but not over-do it.

I look forward to reading more on your blog!

That's fantastic - it just goes to show we can still have the things we want but we have to be smart and we can live full lives. Maybe you and another person can share one and cut the financial cost too? Way to go!!!

Perrrrfect way to start the day!! Cutting out the mayo and egg yolks is a huge step in the right direction for sure! I'm glad you could start your day on a fantastic note like that, and not "comatose" (lol) from eating too much bread :)
