Family day

We had a family gathering today... and I met people that I have heard stories about but never saw before. It was really wonderful to meet family.

Today I ate a small chicken salad sandwich, fruit and 1 mini cannoli and I enjoyed each of my bites of food that I know I will not eat on a regular basis. Other than that I have eaten veggies and 1/4 cup of black rice as well and 1/4 cup of canned salmon... So I still made my calories even though it was not the nutritionally dense food that I have concentrated on...

And tomorrow I will be back on high nutrition food and take my walk.

So the big thing is I had great conversation and I feel good about making a choice to splurge but not go crazy with eating food off my eating plan.
I am still smiling...

So I have the avocado... and it is just the right amount of ripeness... and I have tomato, lime, cilantro, onion, and my favorite high fiber cracker and I am going to mix this up for a delicious treat in the hot weather...

after I come back from my walk I am going to treat myself to this and enjoy the day...

So I have lost 1.6 lbs this week and it is a miracle because the heat has made it more difficult to push the exercise- I am walking every day but not as fast as I could if the heat was a bit less... but you can't tell it by the moisture running off at the end of the workout- water, water, water is my friend..

my eating has been lighter also- a lot of veggies and fruit- I need to make sure I am getting enough protein as I just don't feel like heating up the house to cook it- even if it is just a skillet to stir fry some slices- I think I am going to get some tuna and cook that and just slice off of it...that is just fine cold...

But the biggest joy is 1.5 inches came off my waist... and .5 inches off the rest of me... I am happy with that- a total of 2.75 inches lost this week. So the tape measure and the scale were both good to me this week...sooooo

I am going to keep on emoticon

and also keep up my emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

gaining support emoticon from my SP buddies

so that I can be happy when I step on the emoticon next week.. and see a bit less of me...

Today is a day with a lot of different demands

Exercise, job hunting, getting together two events for the weekend AND listening to a group of immigrants to hear the challenges of starting a new life in the United States... how is that for a day... so I got up early to exercise. Have my list of places to look at and am getting myself ready for the weekend... oh and did some housework today...

And I am taking my rice, bean and veggie mixture with me to eat healthy and keep myself on track while I am running from place to place. Plus I am taking water to keep my hydration up during this heat wave...

    Wow! Made me tired thinking of all your doing today! Way to go in taking your water and food to stay on track. I love to get up early and get my exercise done in the morning - always gives me more energy during the day and then it is not hanging over me either.

    So cute! Inspiring too cuz I am feeling less down on myself now thinking I should count the things I did do today and stop beating up on myself for not doing an exercise video because I am in really bad pain. I drank my water, I exercised for 5 mins, I met many goals and I worked on organizing a shelf in my kitchen.
