Missing in Action?

Thursday, June 23, 2011

I'll be taking it easy for the rest of this week as far as counting my steps is concerned. I have this funny heady feeling and I can't seem to shake it. I don't know quite how to explain it and I'm trying to change around some of my activities including the amount of calories that I'm consuming to try and figure out where the source of this ill feeling is coming from. I'm taking my vitamins and minerals just in case you guys ask emoticon.
So for the next few days I'll be still logging my steps but I won't be pushing myself as hard as I've done for the last three weeks, hopefully by Monday I'll be back on the ball.
All the best folks.

Hi! I hope and pray that you are feeling better now. I agree with everyone about drinking alot of water. You might be dehydrated. At our age (I'm 56) we have to be careful of that. LOL!

Yes, definitely listen to your body. It is one of the best voices we have.

You are in my prayers.

Get Well Soon!

Eighteen Thousand and Counting!

Tuesday, June 14, 2011

That's the amount of steps I've taken for the day so far. Actually I'm over 18,000 but I don't think I'll count anymore for the rest of the day I usually take my pedometer off at a reasonable time so that I will make up for any miss-steps that it may have recorded during the day, that just something I've decided on my own to be fair to myself and others.
Anyone wanting to join a terrific team and get encouragement to count your steps using a pedometer join the '10k Steps a Day Team', beautiful people who will encourage you every step of the way. 'Journey to a New You' team also have a step challenge on going and the folks here are also great company we are having a wonderful time so come on, join the fun and get healthy all at the same time.
Have a great week people!

Pleased as Punch!

Monday, June 13, 2011

Today my best friend at work got all dressed up and went for a walk with the rest of the team during our lunch break. After one year she has now decided to join us emoticon even though I didn't walk today she followed and completed the course which made me quite happy indeed.
I have pics of my team which I will be posting as soon as my daughter finds the time to help me.
How is life treating you guys?

It's Been One Year!

Saturday, June 04, 2011

This has been a good year for me. I'm feeling much better than I was a year ago. I'm more energized, I no longer suffer from Sleep Apnea, I don't have any pains in my feet, I'm 38lbs lighter and even though I didn't reach my goal weight I'm so very motivated to continue on my journey.
This site is marvelous and you my friends and my co-sparkers have been great to me. I love you all and I do wish everyone the best of results as we continue to spark.
Have a great weekend people.

Horrible Day

Tuesday, May 31, 2011

This blog is one that is suppose to reflect the reality of my journey and a reminder that I'm human and to show that there will be times when all just don't go as planned.
I have been so off track with my food choices today I fell like crap and to top it off I'm was unable to get in some much needed exercise.
It has been one of those days that I think needs to be recorded . Tomorow is another day and one that I will have to be very mindful of.
All the best to you sparkies who are having a tough time at this point in your journey. Have a great week.

Thank God for second chances (thirds, fourths, and so on's!) I'm sorry about your bad day. I can sure relate, as I've had some strange ones, too, lately. Some days there simply was NO time for exercise. Other days have been horribly stressful. But, each day I hope for the best....sometimes force myself to do what is not necessarily my first choice to do.....but, always knowing that the exercise really DOES help me handle the stress and keep my sanity. The eating, I try my best to keep up with that as well. I admit that I had pop yesterday when I knew better. Not going to beat myself up, but not going to repeat the behavior today.

Here's to picking ourselves up, dusting ourselves off and moving on. Sometimes life just ain't pretty! emoticon emoticon

One of the best things about Spark (and life) is that tomorrow is a new day...with a fresh new set of calories to use...a fresh new set of hours to spend (hopefully getting some exercise)...it's a fresh new beginning every day. So, it really doesn't matter what happened yesterday...today is a new day...and we can use it to have a great day! Hope you are doing well! Spark on! emoticon

It is one of many days in a row where you did do all the things that make you feel like you are taking care of yourself... you will be fine.... and another day will dawn for you to begin to do the things you wish. Take care and don't read too much into a down day... they happen and they end!

Hey Slim, I've had more days like you've had that I dare mention. . .but the next meal or day I get right back on Track! Have no fear Dear Friend as I know you'll do just that! We're in this Journey for the rest of our lives so we're only human and this kind of day will happen once in awhile. I believe in you and obviously you believe in yourself--so dust yourself off and take those 2 steps forward right now!! Love You!

Hugs,

BENDIEB 5/31/2011 9:12PM

We all have "off" days. Some days are off because of external forces and some days are off--well, just because. I just had 2 weeks on the road, which was really a diet and exercise wrecker.

But really, I don't think I would like a life that I had to live everyday to diet and exercise perfection. Though I do not blog that much, I do record my food indulgences and exercise lapses everyday. Then I review them and look at what choices I could have made differently (pass on that 2nd glass of wine or extra bit of desert) and then try to see if I can bring it back in line for the week as a whole or at least bring a little balance with the following week's activities. Mostly, I can, but if I can't, I let it go.

Let it go and just enjoy these brief indulgences. If you do, it can turn it from a horrible day into at least an ok day.

Besides, You are doing great!!!!! Enjoy the journey.

I understand how frustrating it can be to have an off day--you might have seen from my journal that I'm struggling a bit right now, too. It sounds like you have a very helpful attitude, though--to record it and move on. I hope you have a very healthy kickoff to June!! emoticon
