Plate Scraping Test

Thursday, September 20, 2012

I have noticed that there are certain "foods" that do not scrape off plates and forks/spoons easily - even after being soaked. When this happens, I think that if this happens on external things, just think of how it adheres to our insides and clogs up our internal passageways. Yikes!

Hey, sparkfriends, have a happy day.

Ew.. what thoughts! Perhaps that is why we should stick to unprocessed food?

Prince Harry's Eyeball, and Misc.

Wednesday, September 19, 2012

Saturday's trip to the vet (AGAIN!) was relatively stressfree and everyone gushed over Harry. He was a good boy in front of others, and saved his whining for the ride there and back, just for me. (smiling)

It's day 2 of these new eyedrops which are pretty powerful. Looks like his eyeball is finally clearing up and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this is the final solution for this little guy.

As for me, I have to tell you about my new phenom. Relatively no snacking!!!!!! That's a minor miracle and it started a few months ago when I first started juicing and smoothies. With the addition of so many more veggies and fruit, I am less hungry - by far. And since I depleted all of the semi-yummy stuff at that time, I never replaced each item. Those are the things that are healthy, but that I overate so they wound up not being so healthy. Not having them in the house is a huge blessing as it is so true - out of sight, so very out of mind.

The only down side of all this good behavior is that it makes me feel entitled to go to Endless Shrimp again at Red Lobster. Once there, I set records that should be included in Believe it Or Else. That's going to stop. Soon.

It was touching to read several tributes to a Sparker who passed. I never crossed paths with Unstoppable, but got on her page after reading some of your blogs about her. Special lady, RIP.

Wishing you a good day, Sparkfriends.

I have found the same to be true of my rainbow eating...less desire to have those other snacks and treats...it's a great change. Now, good wishes for Harry.

Isn't it amazing how when we eat healthier food, our bodies self-regulate better and automatically want less?

I so miss having my VitaMix in Illinois for that very reason.

Glad to hear that the antibiotics seem to be working on Harry's eye.

No snacking is great. I love Red Lobster too. My favorite restaurant.

I will really miss Unstoppable's cheery messages.

TWO TERRIFIC COMPLIMENTS LATELY

Monday, September 17, 2012

During the past week, one friend who was ordering lunch at a yuckadoo fast food place asked if I wanted anything. I never make a big deal of my regimen, nor do I judge others. When I said, no thank you, she said, "you know, you've come such a long way with your eating. It's impressive." Now, before you order any medals for me (smiling), I have to say that I still have a very long way to go. I can't expect 4 years to change a lifetime of ingrained eating habits. And I have to credit the new additions of juicing and smoothies for making a huge difference.

Then, another friend, when I walked into the room said, "ooooh, you look so slim." Now, I have to tell you that the scale has been all over the place like a crazyperson. I've come to the point of very limited weigh-ins and going mostly by how my clothes are fitting. And other things like, when I was driving this morning, there was a lot less flabberoo to hold in. I try to do isometrics when I drive.

It's really nice to get feedback.

Wishing all a happy day.

My Adrenals Hurt

Sunday, September 16, 2012

Instead of cold turkey detox from my small daily mug of coffee/caffeine, I'm trying to wean slowly.

However, whenever I do this not only do I get the headaches, but my adrenals also rebel until the caffeine is completely out of my system. Woe is me. (smiling)

Those headaches will go away after you get the caffeine out of your system. Just give it time. As for your adrenals can't help you there since I don't know what they are doing. Maybe they need a rest from all the caffeine.

BTW, I gave up sugar and wheat for 2 years. It was amazing. While I occasionally eat both now, I am not as addicted. Caffeine though, that would be tough.

keep plugging.
