Caffeine Weaning Process

Tuesday, September 18, 2012

Down to just 1/4 small mug of coffee daily. Looks like I may do it this time w/o tons of aches and pains. Hoorayyyyyyyy!

Wishing all a happy day.

TWO TERRIFIC COMPLIMENTS LATELY

Monday, September 17, 2012

During the past week, one friend who was ordering lunch at a yuckadoo fast food place asked if I wanted anything. I never make a big deal of my regimen, nor do I judge others. When I said, no thank you, she said, "you know, you've come such a long way with your eating. It's impressive." Now, before you order any medals for me (smiling), I have to say that I still have a very long way to go. I can't expect 4 years to change a lifetime of ingrained eating habits. And I have to credit the new additions of juicing and smoothies for making a huge difference.

Then, another friend, when I walked into the room said, "ooooh, you look so slim." Now, I have to tell you that the scale has been all over the place like a crazyperson. I've come to the point of very limited weigh-ins and going mostly by how my clothes are fitting. And other things like, when I was driving this morning, there was a lot less flabberoo to hold in. I try to do isometrics when I drive.

It's really nice to get feedback.

Wishing all a happy day.

My Adrenals Hurt

Sunday, September 16, 2012

Instead of cold turkey detox from my small daily mug of coffee/caffeine, I'm trying to wean slowly.

However, whenever I do this not only do I get the headaches, but my adrenals also rebel until the caffeine is completely out of my system. Woe is me. (smiling)

Those headaches will go away after you get the caffeine out of your system. Just give it time. As for your adrenals can't help you there since I don't know what they are doing. Maybe they need a rest from all the caffeine.

Thanks for the comment on my blog today.

BTW, I gave up sugar and wheat for 2 years. It was amazing. While I occasionally eat both now, I am not as addicted. Caffeine though, that would be tough.

keep plugging.

This Is a Royal Pain

Saturday, September 15, 2012

In about an hour, I have the great pleasure (NOT!) of trying to round up Prince Harry, put him in the carrier, and head out to the vet again. His eyeball was treated about a month ago and has gotten worse. I'm hoping it's just a matter of stronger eyedrops and not something awful going on. Meanwhile, going to the vet is a stressful thing. Less so now that I found this new vet. Hope all turns out okay with him. And his brother, William, is such a baby that I have to worry about him being alone. These boys think they are people and need humans around to function well.

Wishing all a happy day.

Prince Harry knows what's coming up, so OF COURSE, he'll avoid you. My female cat could squeeze herself into the most impossible of hiding places when she knew she had to go to the vet. I didn't put her into a carrier though. Once I got her to the vet, she'd tuck her entire head under my arm and "hide". I hope his Highness' eye improves soon, poor fella.

109 Degrees Today in San Diego!!!!

Holy smokes!!! That's really rare for SD. I didn't realize that was going on because I don't really watch the national news. Hope it ends soon for you. I know violence really goes up in the Chicago area during heatwaves. That's why this summer in particular was a bad one for the murder rate around here.
