I'll probably go into these topics in coming blogs as they deserve more attention than a brief overview.
I noticed, during these past two weeks of juicing, that I have no hunger. I mean, none. My body must be pretty nutritionally-balanced for that to happen! The more I juice, the more I want to juice. Last week, I longed for a "real" meal, which I had. But after I ate, I realized that I now prefer to juice. Perhaps that's only going to be during this honeymoon phase, but maybe not. Dr. Fuhrman, in his book "Eat to Live," says that true hunger occurs in the throat and that the reason most people don't know that is because of unhealthy eating that causes pangs for the bad stuff.
Okay, Vitamix. I'm having fun and using it a couple times a day. I don't care if I juice or blend, as long as I'm getting the veggies and fruit drinks I want/need and I'm experimenting. I'll also be able to make soups with this machine. I'm still bonding with it - it wasn't love at first use. I'm not a cooking mavin; quite the opposite. I've always avoided all things kitchen. (smiling)
During these weeks when I haven't been hungry, I had a startling revelation. I knew that I did a lot of habit eating, but I was shocked to realize that about 75 percent of my eating has been habit. A true grazer. When I feel the need to chew, I make sure I have lots of veggies available to chomp on.
Wishing all a fun holiday weekend.
