The Juicing Queen

Tuesday, August 21, 2012

Now that I've started juicing, I can't stop. Been doing a bunch of fruit mixes in the morning, and veggies in afternoon. Absolutely love this and having fun to boot! Who woulda thunk? (smiling)

I've finished off the questionable foods here at home(borderline unhealthy) and now replacing with totally good stuff. I feel like I'm on a roll. Woohooooooo!

Have a happy day.

OMG...Was that Me?

Monday, August 20, 2012

That's how I felt yesterday with my hand-held grocery basket when I stopped in for some items for my new juicer. As I was ready to check out, I noticed that I had ONLY healthy things in the basket. How can this be? Nothing processed. Nothing frozen. Nothing starchy. I joked with someone who works there who's known me for awhile as a frequent grocery shopper, "Uh oh, I think I'm becoming a health nut!" We both laughed.

More on this tomorrow. For now, I want to pat myself on the back. I feel I'm at a turning point and just turned the right direction. (smiling)

Wishing all a happy day.

HEAT FATIGUE

Sunday, August 19, 2012

After a mild summer, San Diego is starting to get those higher temps that have plagued the rest of the country. I have to admit that the heat turns me into a total vegetable. My energy level is drained and I have to push myself to get the exercise in. Hope it gets cooler soon.

Wishing all a happy day.

Hi. I can relate. We've had high temps here in the Boise area. It's not so bad before 7 or 8 am. The rest of the day is brutal (as SanDiegoJohn said).

That's when I go swimming and kayaking! I think the first exposures to extreme temps are the worst each season. After that, my body seems to adjust. In the beginning, it's a real shocker ....hot or cold....it's bad!

The heat causes me so much problems with my neurological disease 'Multiple Sclerosis.
I am so hoping for cooler temperatures!
You are lucky that you have had a mild summer because everybody else in other parts of the country have had a horrendous summer with such high heat all the time.
We have experienced temperatures either 90 or above most of the summer.

Popcorn Butter & Alzheimers

Saturday, August 18, 2012

This week in the news, they reported that lab studies showed that the chemical used in artificial butter flavor on popcorn made the brain cells fold into themselves when ingested. They are linking it to possibly leading to Alzheimers.

Needless to say, the artificial butter is unhealthy anyway, so it's easy to stay away from the stuff. Makes me wonder what else we are eating that is detrimental. Oh, how toxic everything is... chemicals in the air, water, food, emf's from electronics, etc. No wonder so many are dying of cancer.

On a happier note, have a fun weekend, sparkfriends.

I don't know if I buy that study. Lots of people with alzheimers have never touched movie popcorn. You have to wonder what the variables were in the study. I read a study that was supposedly linking eating egg yolks as being as bad as smoking. Of course they did admit they didn't take into account ANY other life factors of the people they were testing. I know plenty of farmers in their 80's going strong who eat eggs-yolks and all-everyday and have most of their lives. What they don't do is sit around like couch potatoes eating stuff out of a prepackaged mix. Hmmm. I don't eat it either anyway but honestly, I think the preservatives added to most foods is what is causing alot of problems. And really, look at the Cantelope deaths over the past few year and then there was spinich born illnesses a while back-chemicals used to kill bugs? Who knows.

First Yummy Juice w/New Juicer

Friday, August 17, 2012

Yesterday, my new juicer arrived and I threw in celery, tomatoes, pepper, and carrots. It was really a nice blend. I have a bunch of free books on my Kindle for juices that I'll eventually try.

Wishing all a happy day.
