Followup On Concert & Vet Visit

Saturday, July 14, 2012

Wow, oh wow! The concerts last night were amazing. Started at 9, ended at midnight. Both Huey Lewis (and the News) and Joe Cocker were absolutely amazing. Their musicians and backup singers were stellar. Sounded even better than their recordings. Loved the shows.

This morning's visit with Harry was so much less stressful than last week. Thanks to all who shared their pet stories about going to the vet. This wonderful vet was sooo happy with Harry's eye infection having healed so well. And I am thrilled that I have such a great vet who cares so much about these furry friends.

Concert Tonight, Vet (again) Tomorrow

Friday, July 13, 2012

Tonight's concert is at Harrah's outdoor stage (San Diego venue) and is two acts - Huey Lewis and Joe Cocker. I got the tix as a b'day present for a dear friend.

Tomorrow morning, I'm taking Harry back to the new vet for a recheck from last Sat's visit. His eye infection is a lot better, but still not 100 percent, so I think she'll be prescribing more meds. I really like this new vet. When I called the office on Monday with a question, she personally called back. I've never had the doc show so much interest. Then, on Thursday, their office called to see how Harry was doing. Again, a first-time experience. Best of all, her prices are much more reasonable. My old vet rushed us in and out, too busy for caring. And prices through the roof. I think I'll be less nervous driving him over there now that I've read other's experiences who responded to my other blog.

Wishing all a happy day.

I am out west, Arizona and we were 119o here in Havasu. I use to live in Santa Maria, Calif. Hardly anyone had A/C. It was really hard when we would get the 90o there. It was more humid, and we just weren't acclimated to HOT. That being said, I'd sure love to live there now, instead of here haha.

I am sort of north-west in BC and we are so enjoying the fabulous 20s in celcius that is. Now Russia is sending us their smoke from Siberian forest fires, what's next?

Have to Go Back to Vet Again

Monday, July 09, 2012

On Saturday, I'll be bringing Harry back to the vet. This time, it's for a recheck on his problem eye infection. It's responding slowly, but he's showing several signs of relief and progress. And this time, I think I'll be less nervous knowing that others have written about their cats making a lot of noise en route also.

Once he's there, he is such a good boy. But he's like a child who knows he can get away with throwing a tantrum with mom, but not in front of others.

I really like this vet and can breathe easier that she's thorough and less expensive. I couldn't continue with the former vet on an affordability basis. The cost per visit and perscription was too high and unrealistic.

Wishing all a happy day.

Put 3 pissed off cats into 1 carrier and you'll decide that the best vet is the one who is closest to you! I am just so bad about making appts for them that I figure it's just easier this way. (Although it is always a bunch of fun trying to re-carrier them when we go to leave the vet!)

Cats do like to voice their displeasure when on the road. (I think it is to discourage us from taking them) My son's cat had to enure a 5 hour road trip when he moved out of state. The howling was unbearable.
Over the years there has only been one cat that we have had that actually liked car rides... but we had taken her frequently as a kitten. Other drivers would be surprised when they saw her calmly looking out the window.
I'm glad that Harry is improving. emoticon

Jesse, sorry to hear that Harry hasn't been well. Hope the checkup is good. Ms Molly is very quiet going to the vet but PolyDactyl starts to care the minute you put her in the car. By the time we get to the vet, her little pads are wet with sweat. It always kills me to take her but like Harry, the minute she's there, shes' fine and starts purring.

hugs....Mary Anne

Does your kitty stand in the middle of the room and essentialy shout at you to look at him several times during the day? And then turn his nose up at whatever you put in his food bowl that he loved just an hour ago? That is what my son's cat does to him. The cat is pushing 18. I'm thinking that it won't be long before he will be gone and I'll miss him.

It is great to find a vet that you like, who is resonable and thorough. emoticon

Jesse, most cats do not like traveling, so they are very vocal about it. Just in case you have any doubt about their feelings. LOL All seven of my cats cry and try to get out of the carrier on the way to the vet. One did not out of the carrier and it took us over an hour to get the cat out from under the car seat. My hands were all cut up by the time the cat got out.

I am very glad you found a good vet that is fair in her cost. I travel a full hour one way to a vet because of her rates and her medical skills. All my animals love her.

How is your kitty doing?

Now imagine a 12 hr trip by plane & car where he howls the whole way & almost eats his way out of the soft carrier . . . literally.

Yeah, moving wa an experience I'll not soon forget.
