I'VE REACHED GOAL WEIGHT!!!

APRIL FOOLS!

Okay, I admit that was a lousy joke, but I couldn't resist the opportunity to practice that statement. Hopefully, I'll make it come true in the near future.

I say this at the start of every month when I ponder how quickly the year is flying by - I can't believe it's April already.

Wishing all a happy day.

I Didn't Win The Lottery Tonight

Saturday, March 31, 2012

The huge jackpot numbers were just announced. Although I'm not a regular lottery player, I did catch some of the fever and bought a few tickets. If nothing else, it goes to help this financially unsound state.

Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of not winning the lottery fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles,
And by opposing end them? Not buy a ticket and wonder what if;

you and a million other dreamers
ah....maybe next time

Chocolate Eaters Have Lower BMI?????

Wednesday, March 28, 2012

Every day there seems to be a new study reported, and today I heard of one done by the University of California San Diego. They found that those who eat chocolate regularly have a lower BMI than those who don't.

Just like all those studies saying that coffee is good for us, I immediately think, "darn, just when I've given them up for good!" But then I realize that I'm just fine w/o chocolate because I can never do just a little. I amaze myself with the amount I am capable of consuming. Not in a good way! (smiling)

So, they can do all the studies they want and I'll just stick to my own plan that's best for me.

Wishing all a great day.

I read that same report. My husband eats dark chocolate....he says it's his only vice. He does a good job at keeping his weight down. Even so, I agree with you...I don't think that trying to eat "a little" every day would work for me.

Most of the studies are so limited in what they look for that only a handful of people might fit. I just take them with a grain of salt (or whatever passes for it).

Stick with what you like and pass on the rest. emoticon

The studies they do just seem to flabbesgast me too. You think you should quit something that they say is bad for you, and then they later decide it is good for you. We can't win. They have us coming and going.
You are so right, make your plan and go with it regardless!

Well, my BMI still isn't where it should be - and I sure do eat chocolate. But I can eat just a little bit, so it works for me - and that's just the bottom line. What works for YOU.

Totally agree with just doing what's best for you. I love the idea of "everything in moderation," but that's just impossible!

SHERYLDS 3/28/2012 4:02AM

the research study was based on a questionaire they gave 1000 adults, it's already being criticized for lacking scientific credibility.

We need to consider everything we read with a little bit of common sense these days. You do what works for you...that's the way to go.

I totall agree, I'm a firm believer in doing whats best for you. Were all different in many ways. What works for one person, doesn't always work for the next person. You know your own body and mind, so do what ever works best. Good luck to you!
