Goodbye, Davy Jones

Wednesday, February 29, 2012

We lose yet another singer, and one whose "monkeying around" hasn't been forgotten through the decades.

RIP, Davy Jones.

Pleased With My Jan/Feb Goal Achievements

Wednesday, February 29, 2012

As usual at the end of every month, I am amazed that I'm already saying goodbye to February. Went by in an eyeblink!

Very pleased with my progress in the first two months of this year, and optimistic about my March goal of no night eating. It's been a lifetime habit and one which is not just a minor problem. If necessary, a small veggie or fruit will be okay if dire hunger prevails. But I really want to get rid of this habit.

Wishing all a fun day.

Good job on the nighttime snacking goal...I find I can be a little vulnerable to that habit too. I try my best to have a good solid dinner packed full of fresh veggies and a lean protein before 7 p.m. if at ALL possible. If I really get the munchies I'll have a fruit smoothie or a little container of greek yogurt with fresh blueberries or a splash of tart cherry juice (you can get at the health food store) over it...usually hits the spot, sometimes even a sprinkle of walnuts to give me some crunch. I'm SO VERY proud of you girl...you are REALLY doing it this year...wooot...wooot! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Snacking before bed CAN be a good thing. As a diabetic I monitor my blood sugar before bedtime as I don't want it to get too low. So I'll eat an apple or have a glass of non-fat milk to get me through the slumber period. Earl

I Paid $4.49/gal for Gas This Week!

Saturday, February 25, 2012

Granted, their $4.24 pumps were empty, so I was held captive to premium. But this is totally outrageous. It's time to get out the bike or buy a motorcycle.

Wishing all a fun weekend.

Ouch! Ours here in MI isn't quite that bad but we are getting there quickly. It's only going to get worse since it is an election year.

We bought a used Prius last fall, and I'm so glad we did. I'm really liking getting 40mph. I'd love being able to use a little scooter to get around town if I thought they were safe...the mileage on them is awesome!

I hear you - just yesterday the price at Costco went from 4.12 to 4.19 in 6 hours - ouch! that's silly! But check this out, across the street from DisneyWorld the price is $6.20/gal - LOL! Talk about gouging their customers, ouch!

If you have to do a lot of getting around that's gonna kill your bank balance. We need fuel efficient cars. emoticon Where are they?

It is just getting ridicules how much gas is when we have gas here in the ground and we can't touch it since the environment groups stopped that. There is ways to get it out safely and the companies can do it if they want to but it costs them money which they do have and can spend to get it out safely.

No New Clothes Until Plateau is Busted Through

Friday, February 24, 2012

Yup, that's right. I made that agreement with myself yesterday. It's time to bust this forever plateau wide open. And I'm not spending any money on clothing other than the smaller sizes I intend to return to prior to this chubster period of time (first time in my life and it's been quite an eye-opener). Hooray for me!

Wishing all a wonderful day.

That will give you great motivation!

I have to admit that I had to buy new clothes last fall because I had "outgrown" my old ones. Not a good feeling, but I did enjoy my new wardrobe over the winter. It was my gift to myself after caring for my father. I think he would have wanted me to have nice clothes.

February Goals Update. March Goals.

Thursday, February 23, 2012

It's unreal how fast February is going. I have absolutely no cravings for caffeine or sugar, two of my past two months' goals. This time around, I don't feel as though I'm depriving myself at all. I just satiated on both prior to giving them up, and feel soooooo much better now that they are not on my mind . (or in my body)

I've already started my March goal and into day 2 of no night eating. It's a lifelong habit and I've tried every suggestion possible before. Now it's a matter of discipline in not having snacks late at night.

Wishing all a wonderful day.
