  :-) goofball! :-)

Yes, it's still riding weather, but didn't ride this past weekend. Saturday was the HOG Holiday Party. Sunday I just wasn't up to dealing with asking the Mr. to get the bike out for me. Will be riding next week though. Friday we will be doing part of the escort ride for Wreaths Across America, and Saturday we're going to Arlington to lay wreaths on the graves, then riding home. And if I'm up to it, I want to do a ride on Sunday too. We have the electric gear, so not much phases me. :-)

I Snack When I'm on the SP Site

Saturday, December 03, 2011

I noticed that, whenever I'm on this site at night, I tend to snack while reading the information that SP provides. Not a good habit to get into; good thing I'm not attending AA or NA, and I'd be tempted to do those substances while attending those meetings. (joking) I guess it's this constant focus on food that reminds me that I want to eat. This is a new behavior, and one that I have to nip in the bud.

Wishing all a fun weekend.

I am of a different slant. Select good crunchy veggies. You might want to add a dip? And a damp napkin?
I wash my key board with Q-tips and rubbing alcohol. And I chew with my mouth closed. When time is limited and a gentle cud chewing session could be a benefit releasing pent up thoughts may be it is needed to vent-unwind-or just rant; a good chew can spend some moments in jaw therapy ‘unstressing’ enough creative vibes to write something we would want to hear. And stress-free helps to lead to a leaner me.

All I can say is I hope the "bud" is low cal!! LOL The reverse happens with me, I find it to be a diversion for me and for me I guess boredom and eating go hand in hand. Self discovery however is key and I am glad you have noticed a trend that you need to change.

Yep that is a habit you will have to work on. I chew sugarless gum which seems to help.
Have a great week end.

I picked up a new habit, I drink green tea while I'm on SP or on the computer instead of snacking. Or next time you start eating try tracking what you are eating on the tracker and you'll see the extra calories. Try the tea, but don't put sugar in it.

Two Cross Goals Achieved In 2011

Friday, December 02, 2011

Despite this having been another tough year of many losses, including the most recent one of a dear friend of 11 years, I have attained two goals while continuing this healthy adventure.

One is no tv. I'm so much happier w/o it in my life. The other is a zero balance charge card and no - absolutely none- interest in shopping. I've now got a strong satisfaction with the things I have and have no desire to acquire new things.

Wishing all a great day.

WTG Achieving those goals have hopefully reduced much stress. Living within one's means is so gratifying. I noticed that with no tv (due to a power outage for a few days) I was more relaxed and less inclined to stress eat.

I know you will continue to have success in achieving the goals you set.

good for you with no credit card debt. we too live debt free and it is a good feeling.
But no TV....gosh that would be a hard one for me. Living in Mexico and being retired, I like watching Tv to feel connected.
But if it works for you...great.
Have a great day.

We've never carried a charge on our credit cards, but as you know, they sure do get a workout - even so, we live well below our means.

I did go shopping yesterday, and while I saw plenty of things I like, very little at my price pt so I bought nothing. But today I hit up the expo.

These are great choices, tho!

C'mon...Where Did This Year Disappear So Fast?

Thursday, December 01, 2011

I've said this at the beginning of each month, but I really really really can't believe we are into December already. Yikes! Where has this year gone?

Wishing all a great day.

Here Comes the Detox Illness (why do I put myself through this?)

Tuesday, November 29, 2011

Even though I don't drink a lot of coffee (a small mug a day and no other caffeinated beverages), I get flu-like symptoms (including awful headache) for a few weeks (yes, weeks!) when I detox from caffeine. I've tried different methods like weaning slowly, etc. Doesn't work.

And I figure while I'm going to feel awful, I might as well get rid of sugar. I don't know how to do "just a little" so I've gotta get rid of it. Yes, I've been through this before. Both sugar and caffeine affect me terribly, and I recently was off both for five months. Felt so much better.

Okay, here we go. This is day one and I feel like I should be on that Dr. Drew Rehab Show.

Wishing all a good day.

WTG on focusing on your needs. Misery does love company so combining makes sense to me, better to deal with it once instead of twice.
