WOO HOO! HAPPY EASTER AGAIN, HOPE YOU HAVE A GREAT DAY!!! Report Inappropriate Comment |

This weekend I exercised my hiney off. In the wonderful sunshine, in a field surrounded by nature. A couple of people had their dogs out and as I walked the long loop, I watched these beautiful creatures run and fetch. Reminded me of how I've always liked to move and be active, but how I've stalled out with all the recent losses. It's time to start my engine again.
One dog suddenly just flopped on the ground and rolled around with happiness. I laughed aloud at such a delightful display of joy and unabashed enjoyment of life. It really was fun to watch.
Of course, there are my own furry little brothers - Prince William and Harry - who are puppies in cat bodies. They are rascally dudes who are just in love with life - plain and simple. They remind me that I can (and WILL) reclaim the joy that was usually in my heart before all the deaths of loved ones (10 in the last 3.5 years).
And a quote I found that I would like to share...
A 16th Century monk named Fra Giovanni once said, 'The gloom of the world is but a shadow, behind it, yet within our grasp is joy. Take joy.'

We can learn a lot from our animals. I'm so sorry about all the loss you've had in your life. Today I met a woman in my Boot Camp class that had recently lost her husband. She said that at first she just couldn't even get out of bed, but that she realized by waisting a whole day feeling sorry for herself, she was not honoring her husband's life, or the life they had together. It sounds like, You're on your way to finding your joy again, and to honoring the lives of your lost loved ones. Good luck! Report Inappropriate Comment |

Love the quote! Yes, the animals make me laugh every day - I say it's their job. When I'm not yelling or angry at them, of course.

I love that quote! I had a major meltdown this weekend. I felt so down Saturday, and I can even explain why. I think it was hormonal. Anyway, I could have used that quote then! Thanks for sharing-- Lisa Report Inappropriate Comment |
