Birthday on Sunday

As my birthday approaches on Sunday, Feb 8, I realize that I've given myself the best gift of all. Having begun this weight loss journey on 10/13/08, I've lost 28 lbs so far. I feel so much better, and am now working on the remaining 32 lbs. Happy Birthday to a healthier me!

  


Eating Healthier Without a Second Thought

After only 4 months since I started eating healthier, I am doing many things without even thinking about them. These include - grocery shopping with a list and having nothing awful in the cart, sticking to small portions, being aware of the proper combinations of food to include protein, dairy, fruit and veggies, and having absolutely no cravings to deal with (I attribute this to having had breakfast each day.) I still have a long way to go do beat lifelong eating patterns, but feel that I have a good grip on things at this point. I think that this website will help me immensely.

  


Slow to Get to Know this Site

I've been very slow in getting to know this site. Seems huge and packed with people - a very busy site - and kind of intimidating. Not sure why I feel this way, except that I've not had the time to really log on regularly to gain familiarity. My weight loss is slow due to other challenges going on right now. Of course, isn't that always the way? There are always "other challenges." I guess I've hit a motivational slump and have to find a way to kick my butt back into action. Not that I've gone back to bad eating habits - I haven't. But losing my momentum.

    It was intimidating to me at first, but don't lose hope.
You're here for a reason, don't let confusion steer you away from that goal you've set for yourself.

I think the biggest help here beside all the support is the nutrition tracker.
Just my opinion though. But I firmly believe in that and use it religiously.
Just take it slow. Keep your goal in mind.

Confused but Will Learn. Finishing up Old Program Food

I have to admit that I am impressed (and a little confused) by all that's available on this site. Haven't had much time to explore it. Will get up to speed soon. Meanwhile, I am going to try to blog daily to keep my weight loss journey clear in my mind. I do journal daily food intake, and I'm currently finishing the packaged food from the program I was on for a short time as not to waste the money I spent. Thanks to all who responded to me, and I wonder where I find the question of the day and answer of the day that was suggested by a helpful person. Okay, I hope to get familiar with this soon.

I've been at another site (with their food plan), and recently decided that I want to venture into my own eating habits. But I still need a support team, without constantly raving about the product on the other site. I'm trying to be tactful here, as not to offend. As much as that plan got me off to a great start, it doesn't really teach you how to implement real food into your day. Plus, I needed a place that was more objective and could bring a lot of different thoughts to the table regarding weight loss, healthier living, etc. It'll take me some time to explore this site, but I can see it offers a great deal and already appreciate the folks who've set it up.
