Just gotta tell everyone!!

emoticonWell, I might not have been able to get in the mood to work, but I more than got in the mood to go and walk around the gym. Well, i did 40 laps, but was going so good I did another one... but what I gotta tell ya is - I not only did 40 laps, 21 were walking, but the other 20 were jogging.... Me????? Even I can't believe I could do that! Imagine this at 200 lbs., just think what I could do at 150 lbs!!!!

You are doing great, stay with it. Boy you are sooooo lucky to have that gym to walk in for the winter I just had to rejoin curves so i can find a place to go to exercise with weights. Pat in Maine is SO PROUD OF YOU.

And to respond to what you could do at 150, Well, keep doing what you did today and you will see what 150o feels like, certainly you can do it.

Had a good day today, with Christmas practice and a guest in today and then they're doing they Metis cultural dance, it seems like there is no time for actual school work. But, I watched their dance today and it looks really good. Our cultural teacher has a heavy load, she tries to cover everything she can with them. She brought in a magazine today about Aboriginal Obestity and heath disease etc. and it had community member pictures in it. Then everyone was loud and not listening and not getting much work done, so I asked them all to stand and there's a little BrainBym technique that my sister swears by and she always tells me it's worth the few minutes to stop everything and have the kids do it to re-focus them. it's called the Cross Crawl and it's supposed to help both sides of brain work together... They just stretch up and then bend over to touch the opposite knee (and I make them count so many times) I know it probably sounds very easy to us, but I remember when I was up north and one particular boy (over 100 lbs. in Gr. 1) and it took probably 20 min. till he figured out how to do it!

Anyway, I invited the cultural teacher to do it with us too!

Then we had a guest in today and her topic today (last week she did the lessonw ith tearing a strip off the girl with each insult) was a talking circle where you said something nice about the person beside you. Then you went the otehr way and said something nice about the person on the other side of you. Then she asked how they felt doing it and gave them all a cookie (Peak Freen!) and a tube of icing and they drew a happy face on the cookie... and teacher let them eat it, so they had a happy face on their face too! So, that was a nice exercise!!

So meals today were good,
Breakfast - oatmeal with prunes and almonds (will the pot ever run out?), pear, plum
Lunch - homemade turkey and barley vegetable soup, pear
Supper - pork chop and rice with stir fry bean sprouts and green, yellow beans anc arrots, pear

So, I took the car up to the mailbox and checked out the snowy roads... wiper blade was stuck on the window! And the temps are going down to -20C by the weekend.... it's here!!!

    Hi Lila
Wow, it seems like a great day, good vibes and your meals seemed pretty good.
Ugh snow, is this normal this time of the year? Do you know what -20C would be in Fahrenheit?

Each day has been good, I feel you might be getting focused and allow some quality Lila time.
I also wrote a blog "It's the season to gain weight" and using it as a challenge in my one team and may add a couple more teams, although some of the comments are really taking the challenge.

    It has to come some time but I sure wish it did not.
Loved your blog it was nicely upbeat. I think you will make it this time. You are really doing well.
I am eliminating friends because I do not want any who do not answer me. They are not friends just names. I like it that way.
Tomorrow i am going to check out CURVES, I was there before Spark but my Curves closed and this one is really small and gets so crowded. I find I do not like the DVD and cannot afford the local gym so this just might be right for me. Thanks for the upbeat Blog it has made my evening complete. Snowy Monday

My regrets to anyone who would liek to share my cabbage rolls, can't send them any way I know... But I will think of you when I eat them. I had them for lunch today and there are still some frozen for another time. I can't believe how easy they were to make. I always look at it as a chore, but this time it was quick.... freezing the cabbage and then letting it thaw overnite, takes so much of the work out of them than the old way of boiling the cabbage and waiting till it cools and then cutting it etc....

Well, it's beginnign to look a lot like Christmas here... snow is really coming down. I must go walk home - at least with the white snow, it doesn't seem as dark.

Breakfast - oatmeal, prunes and almonds
Lunch - cabbage rolls (and a smokie!! due to low attendance at school today they were offered to teacher and how could I pass it up>)
Supper - pickerel, lentil, sweet potato and chickpea curry (SP recipe)

Well, tired today, but with so many away for the Memorial Service, we had a crazy mixed up day, only ended up with 4 kids for the afternoon.... So they did their Cree cultural dance and then we did mad math and a listening exercise and it was home time...

I had a major accomplishment today. I organized a Weather unit last nite and decided to make it into a booklet so everything is together.... had done this before, but changed it and had a little extra work to do, but I got it all bound on the binding machine after school, so I'm good to go.... Well, I'm off, have a good evening all.

    Hi I am glad you found the easy way with the cabbage rolls, it does help when they get so wilted and they wrap so tight.
It sounds like your day went well. I was able to actually walk outside it was areally nice walk I saw a bald Eagle close up . It was fabulous. Hope you are enjoying yourself wherever you are . I hope you read my blog .Pat in Maine.

    Hi Lila
I knew you couldn't send the cabbage rolls over the internet, I bet sometime in the future, they will find a way. Did you think of us while you ate them and smile.
It feels like you had another great and somewhat stress free day. That is so good. Each day like that is one more step in getting back in balance.
I am going to give you a challenge, I wrote a blog today on the season to gain weight and several have actually made a commitment ( not sure they knew) that this season would not be a gain. So, It is time, you can read it and make a commitment to your self for the balance of 2010.
Thank you for sharing this, I feel some god energy reappearing.

Some Sunday

Aw Darn! Dh found the cabbage rolls too spicy... I'll have to eat them all by myself!!!! (Already got them portioned and frozen!) Yum!!

Well, got a hot bubble bath this am, and that was so much nicer than yesterday's quick and cold bath!! Good food on the menu again today!
Breakfast - 3 eggs with onions and red peppers, pear
Lunch - almonds, mixed veggies, persimmon , plum
Supper - pickerel, fried potatoes and onions

Now, I am at school and just the heat in hear alone, I should be dropping off he pounds, which reminds me to get a bottle of water too!

Feeling good today instead of the usual overwhelmened and feeling like there is no way I can get everything done in time... I wonder if I am forgetting something??

Well, the plan is to finish up and get home before dark, I even walked down here to ensure I leave before 5.

This is good way to start the new week.
By the way , is there some way that you could send a couple of cabbage rolls as an attachment, haven't had one in years. Now, that is something we should invent a new way of sending things.

    Sorry about the cabbage rolls. I just read about the other recipe. We went to a concert and we ate out with the soloist and his wife and others of course. We did have a great time.

So It's Saturday

Well, another rottens leep... a pill should certainly be in order tonite.

But, I cooked a nice big pot of oatmeal for breakfast and I've been craving cabbage rolls, so after my bubble bath - which for some reason we didn't have much hot water for, I made them. It looked like a huge bowl of rice and ground meat, but it only actually made 12 (pretty big) cabbage rolls. And I tasted one already and the spice is nice.

Then I read for awhile and had can salmon and cucumber and tomato for lunch. I went to school about 3:30 and it's 7:30 and I am getting ready to go home. I'm hungry and those cabbage rolls are beckoning to me... And I realized I have to really get 2 weeks ready cuz I will be away on Monday and Tuesday next week... So, I made a good deal of headway, but as always more to do...

So home I go and wish you were all here to enjoy a great supper!

    Actually I do too. I like cabbage rolls but DH does not so I rarely make them for myself. We really do love cabbage though. I amke it with onions and apples and we eat it with pork and carrots and peas. Almost all of my vegetables in a single meal. Along with 3 ounces excellent lean protein. Tomorrows dinner. We are off to a concert in the afternoon. Pat in Maine. HUGS -Enjoy!
