Leaving on a jet plane to PEI

Wednesday, March 28, 2012

What a day... it's not even a week till tomorrow since my father died. How could so much have happened so quickly? Lat nite, I journaled four long pages typed and then took them and gave them to my counselor this a.m. to see what I have been going through. Then I told her that she could see all the stuff that was going on and if she thinks I had a crash cuz I went off my anti-depressants, she could forget that idea... and then asked her if she wanted to know what else happened for the 4 hrs. before I went there today. She told me I am doing the right things just not getting the results I expect.

Then I came home and tried to get in touch with the Child Care Qualifications to no effect.
Then I also called to see if I could get into my Financial Planner today and did from 6-8 pm. That was very nice and went well, as always. In between dd and I got manicures....

So tomorrow, gotta try to get that qualifications thing done and also check out my meds and see if I need any refills before I go and pack up and try to finish up a few things I have on the go.

What a Day!

Monday, March 26, 2012

Woke up to the phone ringing after being up with g.s. throwing up and needing his bed changed at 1:30 am. So, the call seeing how much money I was going to contribute to my father's funeral and my mother's living expenses was a shock, to say the least... I know I live far away and haven't been there for them, but this was a shock. Despite all the other family members having one, if not two, breadwinners, I am expected to contribute the same as they do. Not how I wanted to start the day...

So then I had a sore stomach and had to go off to my work day observation. They had forgotten I was coming... (way to feel important) and the K teacher was busy putting her room together after it being painted on weekend, so I went and volunteered in the Preschool class, till it got really noisey after snack and then I went and sat in the baby room for an hour or so. One poor little girl was so constipated she was in great pain, and I just held her and rubbed her back while she cried for an hour till her Dad came. So, I went back and talked with K teacher for a bit and then went downstairs with her to drop off her last girl at the AfterSchool program and met another worker down there. Then in speaking with the Owner/Coordinator, she asked if I was coming back... I told her I wasn't scared off and she asked again, if I was coming to volunteer. I told her my unemployment runs out April and I need a paying job. She then "suggested" as the K teacher, the job would start around June 15. She gave me the number to get my certification going, as it takes 4-6 weeks, so I should do it before I leave. She told me to call her when I come back. She also said I should be approved for a Level 3 and she would be reimbursed $6.62 an hr. for me that's how she could afford me.

So, am I hired? I don't know! Do I have a job to come back to? If so, when? I don't know... Weird!!!
The K teacher spoke as if I was hired and suggested I should spend about 2 weeks with her to see all the schedule etc. So, I think I might have a job maybe!!!!!!!

Came home and my bro called and talked to me for a couple hours. Interesting how each family member has a different perspective on how things are going. I just need to remember the old Brownie Motto...
A little brown owl, sat in an oak,
the more he heard, the less he spoke,
Why can't we all be like that wise old bird?

Interesting day with lots of questions left over! Must get busy finishing up paperwork etc. tomorrow.. Whew!
I made an awesome curry for supper tonite. Most of the people I worked with today were of East Indian descent, and driving home, the idea for curry just seemed to be very appriate... and YUMMY!

Definitely a mixed up, confusing day! I'm sorry it was like that for you. But, I am a little excited that you may have a job. You gotta go for it and give it your best shot! I would be so excited if it worked out for you. You definitely deserve something good happening in your life right now.

Today, 1 week ago was when father took the stroke... long week!

Sunday, March 25, 2012

I started watching a movie last nite but it was after 1 am, so I recorded it and while I finished watching it today, I did WATP - Walk and Kick (I forget how much I like doing those!) The movie had Angeline Jolie in it and it was about some competing Air Traffic Controllers., called "Pushing Tin"... ~1999...

Then after a shower, I watched a little of Dr. Oz where he had Hungry Girl on there with a recipe using Fibre 1 and spices to coat chicken breast and 4 min on each side in the fry pan.... So I did that and used the rest of the rice, lentil, barley pilaf I made last nite with some extra onions, peppers and mushrooms... Pretty quick and easy. I went out in between and wanted to get her book from the library but they were all out. Also I wanted to get the Eric Carle book, "Slowly slowly slowly said the Sloth" so I could take it to the day care with me tomorrow to read to the kids since they are doing rain forests and they will be doing Eric Carle next... but guess what, this is an author if he's still alive would be about 90, and he wrote the book I don't know how many years ago.....anyway, long stor short, there are 72 people ahead of me on the waiting list to get this book!!! What do you think of that? I might even have it in my locker storage, but they are closed today, so guess I won't have it to take with me tomorrow...who knows maybe, they have it there already...

Almost went out for a walk today to but the winds are 45 mph and at 1C, that would be cold....

Sounds like things have caught up with you and that you're feeling a little numb. That's perfectly normal. Take care of yourself especially well right now - for those who care about you.

I saw from my feed that there was more to this earlier, but it looks like you've decided against sharing it here. All I will say is that I hope whatever is going on is something you can work through quickly and without too much hurt.

I'm sending you good thoughts while you sort it all out.

Saturday already

Saturday, March 24, 2012

Well, I was going to upload a quick video my nephew made about my father, but read the copyrite stuff and decided even if I figured out to do it, it has a Johnny Reid song to it, so probably would be illegal so I didn't. He just used the song, "This Is Not Good Bye" and he put some photos of my parents in it. Hard to believe some of the photos were from 35 years ago! Good thought!

I had to go for a walk today, I really needed to do it... I walked over 8500 steps too. It felt good.... started out -11C but I wore a hat that converted into a neck warmer too, so I took it off and put it back on depending on the wend.

DD mad a pork roast in the slow cooker... she just put a bottle of BBQ sauce in it. She didn't like it. I used rice cooker and put 1/3 cup each rice, barley and lentils and some spice and then chicken brother and some frozen mixed veggies. The BBQ was a bit much, but dd and I liked it, no one else would even try it...
