I weighed in yesterday and hadn't lost any more weight. I've been doing much better with healthy eating but still get off track once in awhile. But today, I measure myself and I actually lost inches!! So I will keep my focus on my goal of becoming a healthy eater and making this my new lifestyle not just a quick loss of weight!

Life is good! emoticon

  Whenever the scale doesn't move, it seems that I lose inches. I'm kind of off track right now. I really need to get going again with exercise. Eating the right things is pretty good except for weekends when husband is around more. He doesn't want to stay home ever it seems and then it is easier to eat out - harder for sure than eating at home.

Continued good luck to you.

Weekends are tough!

Monday, March 08, 2010

So, when I started on Spark People I decided to give myself 1 day as a "cheat" day. Not that I would go crazy, that wasn't the intention. But, it seems I go a little crazy on my cheat day (Saturday) and I start my cheat day on Friday night and since it's the weekend Sunday ends up with some cheating too! Good grief! So no more cheat day. I'll focus on eating right 7 days but try to come up with yummy and HEALTHY desserts and snacks (and meals too) so that I feel like I'm cheating.
If anyone has any great suggestions please let me know.
Thanks !

    Thanks for the suggestions. What are fudge bars? Are they like fudgesicles?
I love salsa so the idea of adding it to meatloaf sounds yummy!
Thanks! emoticon

    There are so many healthy options out there...I recently revamped my meatloaf recipe, and started adding spinach to it. My kids love it, and I add salsa to it, giving a special taste. I also like to stock the fridge with sugar free pudding and fudge bars, for a sweeter treat and both are low in calories. I especially like salads, with low fat dressing and topped with all kinds of vegies and slivered almonds, and craisins, as well as cooked chicken. We eat our 'new potatoes' with the skin on for extra fiber, and oatmeal with flaxseed and egg whites are a favorite of mine, wheat germ is also especially tasty on top of oatmeal. emoticon emoticon

Added 10 minutes!

Saturday, March 06, 2010

This past week I managed to add 10 minutes to my cardio workout on my non-circuit days!!
I also lost 4 lbs already, so I think I may need to change my goal of losing 5 lbs. We'll see after this weekend. Today is my "cheat" day and I'm having a wee bit of trouble not going crazy. Tomorrow I will definitely be back on track!!

    I go to the gym and use the weight machines there.
I usually go Mon thru Sat and do the weight machines M W F.
Then I track it in Spark People!

Some Small Goals

Monday, March 01, 2010

Ok, so for the month of March here are my small goals:
* lose 5 lbs
* include fish (yuk) once/wk
* add 10 minutes to my cardio on the non-circuit days

As for what helps motivate me to reach my goals I'd have to say I don't know. I'm my own worst enemy when it comes to trying to stick with something. So I could really use some help in the motivation area. emoticon

    I like fish... my family is on your side. I have to make them alternate dishes. Lol. Everyone has different motivations. I have a wide variety, but mostly I am self serving in that I want to look and feel better. Good luck on your March goals.

It's mild today. Spring is in the air, even though the snow is still piled up. I'm looking forward to spring so I can start walking outside.
