Back on Track

Tuesday, March 06, 2012

The last few months have been a challenge in terms of healthy eating and I'm ready to get back on track. Last summer my husband was in a very serious bicycle accident and since that time I have not been active on SparkPeople. I'm glad to be back and I'm thrilled to be back with my Yellow Biggest Loser Team. I've missed having the accountability to all my online friends.
I am again measuring food and tracking what I eat. I know this is what I need to do in order to lose weight.

Goals Part 2 for 2010

Tuesday, August 17, 2010

I had some very specific goals to reach this year and so far 2 out of 3 are going well. I completed my first 1/2 marathon in June and my husband and I have had at least one date each month. Cleaning the house on a consistent basis is still a work in progress.
I had so much "fun" in my 1/2 marathon that I signed up for the Seattle 1/2 Marathon in November. The race is always held on Thanksgiving weekend. I guess I'll be able to eat all my favorites Thanksgiving Day! My goals for the remainder of 2010 are to:
1. train for and complete the Seattle 1/2 Marathon.
2. Continue to have at least one date night a month with my husband
3. complete house cleaning tasks daily

New Year's Goal Review

Tuesday, June 01, 2010

I had 3 main goals at the start of 2010.

1. To complete the Rock n' Roll 1/2 marathon on June 26, 2010.

2. To go out on a date once per month with my husband.

3. To complete my house jobs daily.

I've done well on 2 out of 3 of my goals.
My 1/2 marathon is coming up at the end of the month and I've been training for it since January. I haven't been able to give as much time as I had hoped, but I'm confident that I can complete the race (even thought it might be at a rather slow pace).
My husband and I have made time to go out on at least one date/month.
Housework is what still needs help. Things are generally picked up, but I really need to go through the closets, clean out the garage, etc.
It has definitely helped me to put things in writing and I'm going to continue working towards these goals!!

5 things that will keep me motivated-

Wednesday, May 19, 2010

5 things that will keep me motivated for the Biggest Loser Challenge with the Yellow Team!!
1. Visiting with our team daily
2. Participating in team and ITC challenges
3. Seeing results on the scale- I'd like to not be self conscience in a bathing suit this summer- that hasn't happened since I was about 10, but it's good to dream! emoticon
4.Just this year I've started running and have participated in a few events. Having a race to train for and people to race with keep me motivated.
5.Continuing to track my calories in/out!

I ran a 12K race and survived!

Sunday, April 11, 2010

Way back in high school many of my friends were on the cross country team. On a whim I thought I'd try one of their practice routes to see if this was something I'd like to do. Apparently we were on the "short" route which was probably 4-5 miles. Of course to my non-runner body this felt like the longest run on earth. Fortunately, the route went by my house and as we approached my residence I waved at my friends and told them this was my finish line. Needless to say I stuck with volleyball and softball and NEVER went back to running.
Well, never say never. Now almost 25 years later I ran over 7 miles at a 10:09 pace and actually had fun in the process. I'm working toward my goal of completing the Rock n' Roll 1/2 marathon on June, 26th.

I can't wait to hear your pace for the Rock n Roll marathon! Be careful - you may get addicted to running and do a full marathon sooner than you think!

Congrats again!!
