My daughter snapped some pictures yesterday so I updated my profile picture and gallery. My dear granddaughter was sweet as can be as you can see in the pictures. The bougainvillea is in glorious bloom so it made a great back drop for yesterday's pictures. I found pictures of me a year ago at 40 pounds greater. I have not located any from 1998 when I was 77 heavier and if I find them I'll need help to scan them because I know they aren't in the proper format. Needs more work, but making progress.
Also making progress on dental issues. Got two permanent crowns today and appointment for Dec 3rd for the next one. Looking forward to getting mouth comfortable and in good shape.
I need to do better planning for my meals. Although I'm meeting calories, carbs, fat, protein, calcium, cholesterol, trans fat, and saturated fat goals almost all of the time, others I'm having some trouble with. Fiber is one I'm usually just fine in, but find it a limiting factor. Sometimes I have to make a non-whole grain selection in order not to go over. Sodium I have to really work to keep under the max. Potassium I've been over a couple times, but iron, folate, and magnesium I'm not getting enough. Some of the things it says to eat (like beans to get magnesium) are then suppose to be limited to reduce potassium. I do take a multi vitamin which may be helping. On the other hand, I may be getting too much of some of the nutrients in the pills. It's just a lot to figure out. I'm certainly getting more information and feedback than I've ever gotten before on what I eat. I would like to try the meal plans but doubt that my husband would be in favor of it. We'll figure this out.
