I finished my first 10K! I ran fairly easily and said my goal was to complete the race. My time was 1:04:07, which was out of the medals, but okay with me.
There will be pictures later, I'm pretty certain. I'll try to post at least one. I'll warn you, though. It was cold. I heard it was 35 degrees at the start. The wind was blowing, especially off the lakes we ran by. Scenery was gorgeous! At the last minute I got brave enough to take off my sweat pants. I left them where anyone could have picked them up because I didn't have enough time to get to my car. Luckily, they were there upon my return. I had not planned to run with my jacket, but I was just too cold. About mile 5, I was plenty warm and tied it around my waist. Then the wind blew and I put it back on. It wasn't until the race was over that I realized I had it on inside out. So the pictures may be very strange. We'll see.
Anyway, I'm declaring it a success. Right at the moment I'm not dying to do another one, but give me a day to rest up and I very well may change my mind. There is an evening 5K on Friday, February 3rd, that I just might have to enter!
