Nutrition tracker data not always accurate

Wednesday, May 13, 2009

I don't know how many times I've entered an item, then checked the nutrition data against the nutrition label, only to find that the tracker's nutritional information is not always accurate. I found this to be true for cereals, yogurts, many of the Sparkrecipes, chocolate, ice cream, v8 juice, and a myriad of other products. Be sure to double check the information against the food labels frequently if you want accurate information on your tracker.

I agree also. But what I have been doing is filling in mine(especially my favorites)manually. A lot of times when they say 1 serving you have know idea how much is one serving unless it is a packaged serving. I am thankful that we have the option of filling in our own manually.

Even if not 100% accurate it has been the most awesome way for me to track and it is working for me. Keeps me excited and on track.

I totally agree with you, I am an ice T addict and when you punch in Tea it shows 60 calories but when I went to my cupboard and looked at the box it says 0 calories. So there you have it. I have changed so many of my calorie intakes on the tracker to program my progress.

Slammaker's Push Ups

Tuesday, May 12, 2009

Only did 58 today, down from my high of 62. My waist, though, is down. 45 3/8 inches. I've lost almost 5 inches from my waist since starting SP in late March.

Mother's Day Brunch

Sunday, May 10, 2009

Well...brunch today was a killer. Had fish, but with the seafood gumbo appetizer, dessert (flourless chocolate cake), and the butter sauce (probably 300 calories alone!) on the fish, the calories exceeded 1000. I'm still good for the day because I can get away with 2200 calories a day, but still...next time I'll ask to hold the sauce! I like to keep my count at 1800-1900 a day.

Hey! It was Mother's Day! How was the flourless chocolate cake? It sounds interesting...! Yep, fish is really good for us, we just have to watch what we have on it! At least you counted up your calories and didn't just turn the other way! Just remember this isn't a diet program...it is a lifelong journey and you are allowed to exceed once in a great while. There is no condemnation! You simply pick back up and continue on. What I find so wonderful is that after a while those foods that you once loved and craved have lost their appeal. For instance, at one time the butter sauce would have really sounded good, but now it sounds rich and greasy! It's like those fried foods that once were mouth watering and now if I break down and get some...ugh! I never thought I would see the day when I would crave a salad with nothing but veggies and some fruit in it! God is so good! Have a great Monday!

Love and Blessings,

I'm now at 62 Push Ups

Saturday, May 09, 2009

I know that I will reach a plateau at some point, but right now I seem to be able to increase the number of push ups each time I do them. Today, in both my 1st and 2nd sets, I was able to pump out 18 push ups in each set. This is the most I have been able to do in one set since starting my push ups program. 3rd set I did 15, and the last set I could only do 11. That totals 62!
