Welcome to the barnyard, and humble abode of Foghorn Leghorn Quotes. My name is in fact, Foghorn J. Leghorn, and I will be your host and narrator during your visit here on the farm.
First and foremost for your entertainment pleasure, allow me to introduce my fellow cast members.
Beginning with the barnyard hussy and lady of the house … hen house that is, the lovely Miss Prissy, affectionately known around here as the ‘widow hen.’ Next, that conniving canine and unsuspecting recipient of most of my pranks, my co-star, George P. Dog, better known as the“Barnyard Dawg.”
We proceed on to that hip rooster from the ‘yard’ next door, the ‘crooner’ who fancies himself quite the ladies man, that “banty” beatnik with the goatee … “like uh, link us man, link us.”Last but certainly not least … in his own mind anyway, ‘that boy’ who still proclaims, “I’m a chicken hawk!”I give you Henery, “nice kid but he’s gettin’ too big for his britches.”
Supporting cast members include: Daffy Duck, Sylvester, Kid Banty, Egghead Jr. Elvis & Pappy, plus my old college chum, Rhode Island Red.
All of this would not have been possible were it not for the illustrative genius and gentleman who gave me my start back in ’46.’ The man responsible for the 28 cartoons in which your host and friends appear … creator & director, Mr. Robert “Bob” McKimson. And of course, the gentleman who gave me the voice & dialect you’ve come to know and love, my friend and confidant, Mr.Mel Blanc.
So, herein lie the ‘looney’escapades of my cohorts, “myself included” as we take that stroll down memory lane, and recapture the laughter and funny moments of times past. Click on a link or page above, watch Foghorn Leghorn cartoons on my YouTube, channels, and be prepared to laugh to your heart’s content.
As an aside, when you’re finished here and find yourself in need of more laughs and stress reduction, head on over and see my rowdy cartoon counterpart, Yosemite Sam… He, I say, ‘he’ll be waitin’ for ya.’
And now as I head off to chemo, I am leaving you with these thoughts!!!
Take care! I guess that I I am becoming somewhat of a bore because of repetition, but I really enjoy the past! I have enjoyed TV next to SP as I have had to slow down but I just normally seem to get pulled to the past and when I was growing up! Maybe because there is truth in the words that children are the the happiest beings in the universe! And at this stage that is what I need!
So on whatever level you shared this Blog I say thank-you and maybe these are old and too simple for today’s young generation but personally I like to think that I am passing on our “culture” when life was very simple! After all we saw much of it in Black and White not 3D!

I had this neat or what I thought would be neat blog put together this morning because I realized that I had been more serious than what I needed to be for the last couple of days so thought that we would celebrate Monday a little differently! I love some of my “childhood” friends and never seem to share these memories so today is the day!!!!! First though I ask that you understand that I try to find things to make me laugh and sometimes I do so and then I wonder why I was even laughing...maybe it is the way John wonders if he should call the Dr.! So this morning I am sharing these experiences with you so I can tell him that I am OK!!!!! And you said so!
First there are some time-lines that you have to know from my childhood that I should share with you!!!!
First is my first true love, in black and white, at a time when life was like this and seemed... o so simple...I have to paint a picture for you. I was 10 years old when Marshall Dillon came into my life. At 10 I was in the 4th grade and only weighed about 135 when others couldn't wait to get to 100#! My Dad and yeah I was a Daddy’s girl was 5'9” and weighed almost 150 #! Got that picture? ON SATURDAY nights just as any school night, I still had to be in bed by 9PM! My Mom was an early riser so she went about the same time! At 9:55 PM my Dad would would come down the hall wake me up and LITERALLY LUG me (so my feet didn't touch the floor and wake my Mom) down the hall....and this how I came to love Matt and be jealous of Miss Kitty!
To show you what I mean, there is one important story that I should share about my Dad....during WWII he actually made Sargent THREE yes 3 times! He loved France and his French girls (this was before my Mom!) So you know how he loved life and laughter and doing what needed to be done to have a good time without thinking of the risk... our Irish heritage! And he was discharged as a private when the war ended...today he would have been held in a different light so see how fortunate I really am!
Today I found my “laughter” with three of my new heroes.... first is my WI neighbor, June who is one of the happiest folks I have ever met, and then my new Hollywood love, Sam Elliott and my new TV hero House (Hugh Laurie after all is there a better puzzle solver in the world?...and believe me this footnote should get me back on schedule so to speak.) And of course a new social media which sometimes I think is getting by me!!!!!
First, June sends me much of what is used in my blogs! From cats to quotes to pure laughter...so you see how special she is!!!!!
From Sam Elliott today!
That slow talking deep voice saying this...well...you get the old woman's drift!!!!!
And from TV, House!
Ever think yourself “but a puzzle to solve”?
But moving on!
These quotes are music of the soul!
And smiles are gaining daily!!!! So..............
And this can only be from from June or a WI friend...
So just have a …
And remember in all seriousness that ….
Hope that you can find something here today that will start your day off right! I look forward to passing on our smiles!
See Mondays can be what we make of them!!!!!!! Keep positive and be happy!!!!!!
Take care and as usual you mean so much to me!!!!!
Jean you are

Happiness and joy are our natural states—just look at little kids. If they’re not in pain or immediate discomfort, they’re pretty happy. So our job is to see and let go of whatever obstacles are in the way of that natural joy of being alive.
Mighty Oak by:Kathy J Parenteau
Stand tall oh mighty oak, for all the world to see,
your strength and undying beauty forever amazes me.
Though storm clouds hover above you,
your branches span the sky,
in search of the radiant sunlight you
count on to survive.
When the winds are high and restless and
you lose a limb or two,
it only makes you stronger, we
could learn so much from you.
Though generations have come and gone
and brought about such change,
quietly you've watched them all yet still
remained the same.
I only pray God give to me the strength he's
to face each day with hope, whether
skies are black or blue,
Life on earth is truly a gift
every moment we must treasure,
it's the simple things we take for granted
that become our ultimate pleasures.
Hope the remainder of your weekend is filled with enjoyment1 And I really appreciate your stopping by...and just as important thank you for your comments and just being my friend!
Update this is the third straight day that I have fought weakness...so I will be thankful when Tuesday gets here! At least it will move me to a “pro-active” status for a few days....
