P90X - I'm Done

Tuesday, September 20, 2011

I have just finished the second go-round of P90X and I must say, I am proud of myself for sticking with it for the whole time, that's an accomplishment in itself. The first time I did it I lost 13 inches all over, this time it was another 7 inches, so a total of 20 inches from 28 weeks of P90X.

I can definitely say that it sculpted my body, just a tad. I can see a little muscle definition, but certainly not the results I would have liked to have seen and I know for the most part I put 100% effort into it. So I kinda have mixed feelings about it. It is a great program, I am happy about losing 20 inches, but I would have like to have looked like the people in the success videos. We've all seen them.... the cut, ripped, hard bodies, well that didn't exactly happen to me, but what did happen is results I am happy with...

1. I started and finished - TWICE
2. I conquered the Plyo workout - I still HATE it.
3. Self confidence has improved
4. Lost 20 total inches
5. Muscle definition in shoulders, upper body, and I have some awesome looking calves and thighs - woo hoo
6. Proved I can do anything for 30 seconds.

I may post before and after pics, not sure yet, kinda scared to put myself out there like that.

Have you completed P90X????? Did you get the promised results?????? I wanna hear all about it.

emoticon Girl! That's an awesome accomplishment!

You know those ads always have the disclaimer... actual results may vary :) Gotta love those advertisements, but hey, don't cut yourself short! That is a HARD program and you are stronger both mentally and physically for doing it TWICE!

You lost 20 inches? That's an accomplishment to be proud of.
Hurray for you for sticking with it all the way through.

It sounds intriguing, but I don't know if I could stick with it. I'm very impressed.

I started twice, but never finished. PLYOMETRICS IS STILL MY FAVORITE!!!! My son took it and my Select Techs to college because it's the rage with his friends. Oh, well. At least it found new friends.

20 inches is awesome! Don't you forget it! Now move on to something else and enjoy! emoticon

Bring on the pics! I have not done P90X because I am not usually disciplined enough to stick with something between me and the tv long term which is why I signed up for a 10-week boot camp class which will start in a couple of weeks. If I don't get the results I'm looking for I will have to seriously consider the P90X ~ your results are astonishing and inspiring; you are totally rocking it! Totally awesome, yup, you are. emoticon

Love P90X, and I thought the plyo workout was fun - leaping around my living room, lol! Ok, maybe I'm just sicko that way. :)

I stopped after a few weeks because I didn't do a very good job of combining it with my half marathon training plan. I love running outdoors all summer. But the HM is in 2 weeks (OMG!), and then I'll have my dates with Tony Horton. Can't wait!

As for increased muscle definition, maybe that comes in a later phase. Those guys & gals have really low body fat %s. Meanwhile, enjoy how you've totally rocked it!!

I bought it and did it for a few weeks but when my husband made the comment that I was looking LARGER I decided I needed to get most of this weight off first. I'm hoping to try it again when I am a lot closer to my goal weight.
You should be very proud of yourself for your accomplishements! P90X is very hard...and you did it twice! Woo hoo for you! Way to go! emoticon

Figures.... The Weather is Perfect, however.....

Friday, September 16, 2011

It never fails, when the weather is perfect I'm NOT. Been sick all week with double ear infection and bronchitis. Crawled back into the office today after being home, in bed, for two days. Not much improvement, just sticking it out today, then I will have the weekend off to finish my recovery.

The temperature has dipped to a gorgeous 60 degrees, oh my heavens, it's perfect running weather and I'm sick emoticon. I think I am most bitter about that. I hate being sick, but not being able to enjoy this gorgeous weather really hurts. It's set me back a week of training. Oh well, can't do anything but take care of myself.... plenty of soup, liquids and rest. Hope everyone can get out and enjoy the weather for me. Love to all, have a great weekend.

Maybe you're feeling better by the time you read this (hope so). I also have bronchitis (11 days already). AND, like yours it hit during a stretch of the most wonderful fall 75-80 degree weather. And, I can't go out and enjoy it or dig around in the garden or anything. Some things just are NOT fair!

The "plague" hit our house about 2 weeks ago via my 5 yr old nephew sneezing and coughing everywhere (reminder: beat my brother .. lol). It went from him to my 3 yr old, then our 14 yr old, then me and now the biggest baby - the hubby.

Hope you are on the mend soon !! You will be out there running before you know it.

Size Matters?????

Thursday, September 08, 2011

Normally size doesn't matter in my book, but I have to stop and toot the horn.

TOOT TOOT, BEEP BEEP, HONK HONK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm beeping and honking from the rooftops today. Woooooo hooooo.

Just bought my first SIZE SIX. Got a white pair of flair leg jeans. I haven't worn a size 6 since high school (1986). I am so excited. Not only are they a size 6, but they were on clearance for $5.99, regularly $34.99. What a deal.

Feeling so elated today as I am rocking the new jeans with a sleeves purple top and white wedge heals. Yes I know it's after labor day for the white shoes, but that rule went right out the window, had to wear these pants today.

Life is good.

Kitchen Creations - Quick and Easy

Thursday, September 01, 2011

I had to share this recipe with my Sparkies. I tried this new recipe last night, so easy, so yummy. I used a can of diced tomatoes with green chilis in them and a mixture of the cheeses I had in my frig (half cheddar/half mexican blend). Everyone loved it, even Mr. Picky Pants, lol. Enjoy.
