Today is my Birthday, but I shall refer to it as my 21st anniversary of my 21st birthday, and yes.... it started out with a bash, literally.
OMG, I'm so clumsy, I tripped this morning on my way out the door wearing my platform wedge heals and totally rolled my ankle. Owwiieeeeee. Iced it when I made it to work. Gonna be a great day, I can tell (SARCASM).
Anyhoo, the bossy sis and DH are cooking me dinner tonight - yeah, that's a great bday gift - NO COOKING !!!!!!!!!!
I was going for retail therapy at the mall for lunchtime today, but now I have to reconsider since the ankle is pretty swollen. I'll settle for a lunch in the office while reading my new edition of Runner's World.
For a mid-afternoon delight, we always have cake at 3:00 at work - I get to choose what kind of cake we are having - I'm thinking angel food cake topped with strawberries - trying to keep it on the healthy side so I can undo the ice cream damage from last week, lol.
Kinda cool that I got a birthday email from Sparkpeople - it said don't just count your years, make them count !!!!!!

Read an article in Fitness Magazine regarding several ways to lighten your lunch. So today I tried something new on my salad. Substituted a teaspoon of dry sun flower seeds instead of croutons. Save = 30 to 50 calories. All about saving a few calories here and there. A lot of great tips in this magazine, one of my favorite next in line to Runner's World.
Got back into action yesterday with my workouts - did a 10 minute Tony workout with bands - sheesh my arms and buttocks are feeling it today. Hoping my workout "funk" is over - P90X on tap for tonight Chest and Back. Bring on the muscles.
It's really super duper hot here today - 92 degrees and humid - ICK !!!! I like it hot, but not this hot. Sure would be a perfect pool or beach day, but I'm stuck in the office but weekend is looking fantastic.
Hope everyone is enjoying a SPARK-filled day.

DH and I took a 100-mile motorcycle trip yesterday to NC to visit our friends. We spent the day riding four-wheelers (my first time) and apparently my husband thought I was rather amusing. I am such an adrenaline junkie, so I tried it.
First we went back into the woods on a trail, lots of overhanging bushes and lots of mud holes, I got a little scared with one of the ruts and hit the hole and took out a small tree at the same time, ooops. I knocked over a small tree, but thank goodness I wasnít going very fast, so I had to get off the four-wheeler and move the tree from the front tires (thankfully hubby didnít see that part).
I think I had bitten off a little more than I could chew with the whole trail riding adventure, I was a little shaken up after the tree incident and figured I should just stick to riding on the flat dirt track, my skills werenít good enough for mudding and trail riding.
So I went back to the dirt, that looked a little safer. Each time around the hills I kept getting faster and faster until I launched myself into the air with a less than perfect landing, lol, scared me enough to make me call it a day. Bet I could have slept all the way home if we had of been in the car, I was exhausted. Nothing like a motorcycle ride back after a hard day of playing to totally tire you out.
Then it was home, dinner and early bedtime. I was totally worn out after such an active weekend. Looking forward to a great week of workouts and fun.

Today's confessional..... I've been slacking this week so far, no exercise what so ever. Just been in a mood, not really feeling to swift either, but that's not an excuse. Just kinda lost my workout mojo.
Well.... NO MORE, I made a deal with by SP buddy that Monday starts a new workout plan for both of us. We will both do a workout before we go to work in the mornings. When we get to work, we will email each other with what we did. I am really hoping this will be able to get me out of bed. I don't want to disappoint myself and I certainly don't want to disappoint my buddy. I'm counting on her and I know she is counting on me. We are each other's workout buddies from across the miles - I'm in Virginia and she's in Iowa. WOW, that's quite a distance, but....... we are doing this together.
Here's to accountability, workouts, and SP friends. We will do our best.
