Went for a one mile walk last night after dinner, it has was a very sloooww walk, doc says I can walk all I want. It took me half hour to walk that far so you know I'm slooow. But..... I finally got some fitness points after almost a month of doing absolutely nothing.
It was very therapeutic, it was a warm outside, a bit breezy (my umbrella got blown inside out), and it was sprinkling - a slow walk in the rain with my umbrella. After my walk, I sat outside on our swing with my giant golf umbrella and listened to the pitter patter of rain, ahhhhh, so relaxing. Then off to bed, yesterday was my first full day since surgery so I was pretty whipped.
Up this morning, shower and getting ready didn't seem so tough, but I'm guessing about noon I will be feeling tired, so maybe a short ten-minute walk to the post office might help.
I know I am soooo anxious to get back into exercise, however you will be glad to know I'm not pushing it, following doctor's orders, abiding strictly by the law and doing exactly what my bossy sister says I can do. Having a bossy sister is the best. She looking out for me - thanks Neecee

I'm back at the office today for the first time since my surgery last week. Let me just say thanks to all my sparkies for the kind words, the get well wishes and all the goodies - it's so appreciated, more than you know.
Today is the first day back at work, but Iíve developed a pain in my leg (cause for alarm), after a quick trip to the ER this morning to have my leg checked for a blood clot, sheesh, I'm in the clear, was really scared about that.
Other than the leg scare, I feel FANTASTIC as best I can be with the soreness from the incisions. In the mean time doctor says the more I walk, the quicker I heal, so tonight gonna go for a short 15 minute walk after dinner.
I go back on April 25th for a follow-up, Iím hoping he will tell me to lace up the sneakers on that day, yeah, something to look forward to.
Surgeon told my hubby after my surgery that he was surprised I wasnít really, really sick because not only did my gall bladder have stones, he said it was diseased and had scar tissue, he said he was surprised I hadnít been having a world of problems and been extremely sick for a long period of time. He said I was having the silent gall bladder problems for several years, just nothing had set off an alarm until my most recent attacked Ė so glad that little diseased monster is gone.
Eating was a little off this weekend, it was PMS on top of surgery recovery, how gruesome is that? Lol, so needless to say I ate a couple too many brownies, but as of yesterday, my appetite was back, but only in very small portions.
People take for granted being able to get out of bed in the morning, jump in the shower, get dressed and head to work Ė I am ready for a nap already after doing so little, but Iím sure Iíll be getting stronger every day.
So what did I miss about you while I was away, anything new and exciting?
P.S. Overheard ER nurses discussing their "diets", so I asked if I could talk to them a second on my way out, I showed them my before and after pics and gave them each a spark business card with my screen name, and told them they never have to diet again and that if I can do it, so can they. Love spreading the SPARK !!!!

Looking forward to tomorrow's gall bladder surgery. Did I just saying looking forward to surgery
Yes, I am, kinda nervous though. I am looking forward to feeling better and getting back to the old me. I haven't exercised in three weeks and it has been killing me, life seems so empty with out it. Gonna take a few days off from Spark so I can rest and heal. Will miss you all, but will catch up with you some time next week.
On a happy note, the weather is supposed to be nice for the next four days, hoping to do my relaxing and healing outside in a lawn chair, soaking up some sun.

Yesterday my BFF Teresa emailed these old pics she found of me. I opened my email and what a shock.

OMG, I really used to be huge, I can't honestly believe it's me, but YEP, quite the porkchop. After being totally shocked by looking at these old pics, I realized something....
Yes I used to be heavy, but I'm still the same person on the inside. I believe I am a better person now. I've learned so much from being on SPARK... I've learned self love, I've learned how to love and support others, and most importantly I've learned to eat healthy, exercise and take care of my body. And the most important thing I wanted to relay to others is.....
If I can do it, so can YOU !!!!

Below are the goals I wanted to accomplish during the month of March, I decided to revisit to see exactly what I did accomplish. Not too shabby considering all the health issues going on, but hopefully I'll be as good as new in the next few weeks.
Goals for the month of March....
1. 15-push ups a day by end of month. Mission Accomplished.
2. Run 30+ miles during the month. Missed my goal by 6 miles, just couldn't get it down
3. Complete 5K in under 30 minutes (March 26th) Was prepared to give it my very best, but I chose to run with my dad the whole way, I really felt I could have reached this goal that day, it was the only day during the month that i was actually feeling like a super star.
4. One pull-up by end of month. Still working on it, and I didn't try as hard as I should have, I'll get there, I'm not going to let it beat me
5. Lose 2 pounds to reach the 100-pound lost mark - WELL..... I didn't really try too hard on this one either, been feeling so bad, my eating has been sporadic, non-existent at times, and well.... I just was not really worried too much about it since I'm having health issues, but... the GOOD NEWS.... I didn't gain any either - holding steady.
I'm not really going to set any goals for the month of April, since surgery is Thursday, April 7th, and i'm just really gonna focus on getting better. I will pay really close attention to calories though.
Hope everyone takes the time to re-evaluate their goals and set some new ones for the month of April - what are you going to do during the month of April???????
