Holy Migraine

Wednesday, June 24, 2009

Got a bad one coming on, I need a quiet, dark room, to sleep it off, but that's not happening because I am at work. I hope I can function until 5 p.m. Migraines suck !

No Sign of Progress

Tuesday, June 23, 2009

Ok, today I am venting. I haven't lost or gained a pound in over 2 months. I'm doing something wrong. I am staying within my caloric range, exercising a minimum of 30 minutes a day and still no weight loss. I am so frustrated and angry. I feel like I am doing everything right, yet to no avail. Grrrrrrr. Grumble. Grumble.

Im not a quitter.

Glad to know that I am not alone with this! I hate to know this is happening to someone else's very frustrating. I exercise a minimum of 30 minutes every day (usually closer to 60+ minutes), I am always w/in my caloric range and I have gained 5 lbs and 4% body fat in the last month! I wish I knew why also! I don't eat poorly at all and I never have "cheat days" either.

I'm right there with you and I'm not giving up either! We can do this! I hope we start seeing some results soon :)

Good luck and God bless! emoticon

Survived Busch Gardens

Monday, June 22, 2009

Hubby and I survived 95 degree heat and four kids under the age of 12 all day at Busch Gardens. We had a good time even though it was hot, hot, hot. Probably walked about 5 miles, at least I got a few exercise points for that. I wonder if riding roller coasters is considered exercise - haha

Dinner at Chili's

Thursday, June 18, 2009

Last night we had to go out to eat for our friend's birthday party at chili's restaurant. I reviewed the nutritional values of everything on the menu before I went and I knew exactly what to order within my daily calorie range. I was shocked to discover that a salad with chicken and salsa relish was over 1100 calories. Wow, how many people order a salad and don't know how bad it really is. Luckily I had carefully selecting everything I would eat so I wouldn't make a huge mistake like that. I had just planned calories for a side salad, a cup of potato soup, a side of seasonal veggies with one slice of garlic bread. They were out of the soup and no bread, but I was perfectly content with the salad and veggies, while everyone else around me loaded up on 1400+ calorie, high-fat entrees. I even had calories left for a sliver of Carvel ice cream cake. Some times I impress myself - haha. NO GUILT.

Good for you on planning ahead and still sticking to healthy choices when you found out they were out of some things you planned. Eating out I find is very challenging and I have had the same problem ordering a salad that you think is the healthy choice and low and behold it is laden with hidden calories. I ordered a nice summer fruit salad from Longhorns last month it had greens, strawberries a very few almonds and a light dressing....780 cals!!!
So proud of you that you conquered that last night and were still able to enjoy a slice of cake!! That takes a lot of willpower to do that!!! emoticon

Last Night's Dinner

Wednesday, June 17, 2009

I'm really not that great in the kitchen but I made a pot of navy beans. I just soaked beans overnight, then simmer for 4 hours with a little piece of salt pork. Delicious - didn't have to add anything including salt. Great source of protein. They turned out awesome. I told my hubby these beans would make my mom proud, since she was always cooking a pot of beans with leftover ham. So my sister called her to tell her how awesome they turned out. Had to have a bowl for lunch today. Yummy.
