First and Foremost: Tonight is the big fashion show, sooo excited. My daughter's dress has already been receiving rave reviews from her classmates and her fashion teacher is very pleased with it. And of course Me and Sis couldn't be anymore thrilled- we are so proud of you KP. Remember it had to me made out of ribbon and wrapping paper. Tell me what ya think...... I just know it's going to be the highlight of the show. Thanks Sis for being the model and dress dummy, lol.
Front is sparkling hot pink and silver ribbon, with tissue paper and foil wrap adorning the top. I'm told that ruffle look is quite the fashion trend these days. KP gonna "poof" the tissue paper before show time.
Tail ruffle (couldn't think of proper term) made out of tissue paper, foil wrap and silver bow, entire hem is lined with tree tinsel for the added bling factor. All fastened together with hot glue, masking tape, and staples. Cost of completed dress = $7.00
Second: There has been chocolate cake in my house for two days and I have NOT had one measley morsel, and believe it or not, it's not calling my name, it doesn't even appeal to me. So I'm celebrating that small victory of NO CAKE FOR ME - woo hoo.

Got a lot of the "must do stuff" out of the way so I could enjoy this...
Tonight: Workout, easy one dish casserole for dinner, and watch Survivor on TV tonight while riding my bike, followed by two episodes of Meet the Browns (YES, Wed. nite is my chillax and watch TV night, it's only one night a week, so I don't mind indulging and being idle for one night)
Fashion Show - Thurs night, can't wait to see the dress we helped design hit the runway. It's gonna be talked about for years I'm sure - will post pics after the show, don't want to reveal the show stopper before the show
Friday: My day off - gonna goof off all day, having lunch with a new friend at Knuckleheads, Christmas shopping with my sister, take daughter to doctor for a check-up, then I get to have the grandteens (that's my word for teenage grandkids, ha ha) for a sleepover.
Looking forward to things slowing down a bit, hopefully. What have you crossed off your "to do" list this week?????

For the past two nights, my sis and I have been helping my daughter design and make a dress for her upcoming fashion show this week, it has to be made out of christmas ribbon and wrapping paper - talk about a challenge, especially since none of us sew, but sewing wasnt a requirement, thank goodness - that's why they make hot glue guns. No woman should ever be without a hot glue gun - it's the men's version of liquid nail, lol. We did our P90X chest and shoulders workout last night, my arms felt like spaghetti noodles when we were done, but it was back to work the dress.
Hopefully tonight will just be putting the finishing touches on it. Can't wait to see it finished. I will post pics of our "show stopper" when we are done. Her fashion show is always exciting but designing and wearing a dress she made will be extra super. It's very creative, lots of sparkle and pizzaz. It's really hard to have ideas in your head and then actually make them come to life. I definitely got skipped over on the "execution" part - I can dream it, but have a hard time taking it from the brain to the hands.
Plyometrics on for tonight - I really hate that workout, way too much jumping, but I am gonna do it anyway, it's part of the program. My sis actually likes it so I can't let her out do me on that one, lol, a little friendly competition between sisters. Competition is such a strong word, its more like friendly encouragement.
Dinner tonight will be a quickie - it's already in the crock pot (thanks sis) so all we have to do is heat up some sides after our workout. Crock pot bbq pork roast, baked fries, baked beans and coleslaw. A total meal under 500 calories.
Hope everyone's day is filled with SPARKle and pizzaz.

Yesterday was such an exciting day. Makeover and photoshoot day for First magazine issue. My Stylist Kim did an awesome job picking out clothes for me.
Lo and Behold she picked out a purple jacket, purple is my favorite color and I had just happened to bring along my new purple suede boots, just in case, it was my lucky day.
Kim also did my makeup, I had so much fun with her, she truly is a gem.
Anthony did my hair, he was so pleasant to work with, I just loved him.
Time to get dressed
Dressed and ready, awaiting the start of the shoot, kinda nervous
Time to change outfits
Time to got outside in the freezing cold
I had such a fantastic time and got to share it with my sister too.
My sis took all these pics for me, so thanks Neecee. Kim is such a great lady and she has the cutest dog ever, her name is "Pearl".
Photographer said she would give me some pics after the magazine was published, so I have to wait until the end of January.
All in all it was a great experience, just got kinda tired of smiling after a while. But I am sooooo thankful for such a great opportunity - it was one I will remember forever. Thanks SP Bruce and First Magazine.

Last night we attended my daughter's holiday violin concert, WOW, very impressive for high schoolers, they performed a Masterworks concert called MAGNIFICANT. I enjoyed the performance very much, so a nice evening thus far.
Hubby, myself and my sis left the concert and DH pulls into 7-11, I can't imagine why he would stop there, but I sat in the car while he went inside. I was watching him from the car, he was standing in front of the donut case, staring into it, in deep thought, trying to make his selection.
I was sitting in the car saying to myself... "oh no he isn't gonna get a donut" - "oh no, he didn't just buy that donut" - well guess what? He had three donuts in the bag. Holy ham, he just didn't know how bad I would have loved to eat that donut, but I was fighting against the strongest person I know... ME - I was fighting myself for a bite of that donut. Well, it was a long silent ride home with the aroma of donuts filling the car.
We got home and he preceeded to eat his donut, and I didn't dare ask for a bite, cuz he knows darn well I didn't really want a bite or need a bite. But oh how I was struggling. He told me on his way to bed that there was one donut left, me and sis could split it. Sis and I both looked at each other - I could read her mind and she could read mine too....both of us were thinking about running to the kitchen for that donut. At the same time, both of us just stopped - We had a little something for that donut....
We popped in the Kenpo P90X and did a round of kickboxing instead. Every punch and kick was dedicated to the donut. We took turns as we were punching and kicking calling out names and flavors of donuts.
BAM, take that you rasperry filled donut - POW, take that you choc eclair. We were doing some serious donut bashing. We were getting a little carried away with the donut name calling, then in the DVD, Tony says "no Krispy Kremes in the house" - we just died laughing. I totally forgot that he says that in the video, but how appropriate and timely was that.
We finished and just laughed at ourselves. We had taken our donut frustration out by punching through the cravings.
Ding, Ding, Ding and the winner is.... Skinnypowell1 and Gr8cgrm
