Managed to get a so-so run in before dinner last night, 3 miles on the treadmill, I absolutely hate running on the treadmill, it totally screws up my pace, but I did it anyway.
Turned leftover ham into a yummy chef salad - I was feeling kinda creative in the kitchen last night - a little of this and a little of that - turned out rather tasty.
Finished up my Halloween costume last night, gonna post pics tomorrow - you all should get a really good laugh - stay tuned for that, believe me... you don't wanna miss me making a total fool of myself.
Gonna skip my usual walk/run at lunch today - it's gonna be hot and humid (don't want to get all sweaty and then have to go back to the office - yuck). Instead I will use that time to go the market and pick up some , etc. hoping they have fresh asparagus so i can cook that with dinner tonight.
My running buddy/sister has been outta commission for two days now with a pinched nerve in her back. Cross your fingers she will be able to run in the race this Saturday. she's trained very hard and it would totally break my if she can't. Get well Neecee.
Tonight it's a round of kickboxing, no run tonight.

but I am sooooo glad the weekend is over - I am somewhat over my illness (I had BRONCHITIS - no wonder I've been winded), thank goodness cuz the antibiotics are killing my stomach, only two more pills left to take. I really didn't feel too swift to do everything I needed to do, but cross your fingers I'm back to "normal" today. This is a four-day week for me, got a lot of fun things coming up to do, hopefully everything will fall into place.
My daughter attended Homecoming dance -it's her first one and her last one - she's a big shot senior ya know, so proud of what a super young lady she is..
Dropped my daughter off to take the ACT exam and spend some time at Dick's Sporting Goods shopping for running gear (never thought I'd say that) - hubby bought me an LED blinking light thingy to wear for running at night and some really cool running socks and made sure I was stocked up on GU. Thanks hubby for making sure I'm prepared. (And my honey is soo sweet, he washed and waxed my car for me, awwhhh, he really does love me, but I already knew that)
Only three more training days until the big race 10K race this weekend. I hope I'm ready, missing a week and a few days off from running has me kinda worried. I did a four mile run on Saturday, not too bad considering I was still wheezing a bit. I put the finishing touches on my homemade batgirl costume - it's a SkinnyPowell1 original, guaranteed no one has one quite like it (that should tell you all something... I can't sew and I got passed over in the crafty skills department). Anyhoo, I'm really excited for the big day. Hoping to meet all my fellow sparkers there. Would like to meet at 9:30 at 19th & Atlantic after the race.
I did lose a pound this week only SIX more to go till I hit my goal.
Friday is gonna be a fun day - Picking up our race packets and ....I'm going to my first ever Fitness Expo, I never thought I would say that either . You know you are a SPARK and Fitness junkie when your Friday night date night will be at a Fitness Expo - heck yeah, color me estatic. Hoping to find some good bargains on fitness stuff (you can never have too many workout outfits, heee heee) Dad is taking me shopping at the Exchange too.

Got home from work last night and did a round of Kempo - woo hoo, bye bye 500 calories.
Sporting the ole Harley Davidson boots today, no trendy new shoes today, rode my motorcycle to work, have to ride when the weather is nice before it starts getting really cold, wind chill on my bike this morning on my way to the office was 22, burrrrrrr. Gonna be in the mid 60's today, perfect riding weather, just chilly in the morning
Doc appt today to get my lungs checked, hope that goes well. Still feeling pretty crappy, but hanging in there, still managing to workout, just not as hard as I had been, but still getting in 90 minutes a day, just a little lighter on the cardio, since I get really winded.
Actually got in my morning workout at 4:30 this morning, started the day off right with a round of P90X arms and shoulders. Woo hoo.
Ooooh, I might not be wearing new shoes today, but..... I am sporting a new Steelers babydoll tee-shirt (officially from Pittsburgh), my coworker brought it back for me last week. Go Steelers. Tonight it's High School Football - Go Dolphins - it's Homecoming and the team we are playing is undefeated, just like us - but I have faith we will totally SMOKE EM tonight - GO DOLPHINS and , it's hot dog night, my favorite, unhealthy indulgence (within calorie range of course) coupled with a side of cheetos - Yeah for junk food (only allowed for a football game, no other ocassion is good enough for bad food - hey, I'm only human)
Hope everyone has a great weekend - I'm hoping to complete an 6 to 8 mile run in the morning, hoping my body will cooperate and I get to go for a long motorcycle ride tomorrow also. Love you all.

Shiny patent leather peep toes ankle boots - woo hoo
Just wanted to show off a few of my new purchases in a Size 10 - double woo hoo. Pics are not the greatest, cuz I was not exactly feeling photogenic.
Started the week off with gray skirt and purple (my fav) top with shoes from my daughter's closet
New dress with new "outside my box" boots - my sister teases me and says this dress looks like a Star Trek outfit, well yeah that's funny - so when I wore it, I had to say "beam me up scotty" lol
Today's look is a hounds tooth print (compliments of my 17 year olds closet) with some new GV jeans and the boots pictured at the beginning of my blog.
I just needed to see myself in pics with my new duds and shoes, it's really hard getting adjusted to seeing myself in pics, and half-way liking what I see, I hid behind the fat and frumpy clothes for way too long - had to show it off a bit.
On a fitness note: I walked 2 miles last night to my daughter's violin concert at her school. I'm still really not feeling too swift, can't seem to shake whatever I had last week. Have a doc appt tomorrow, I think it's all settled in my lungs, kinda scared it's pneumonia, a co-worker of mine had it not to long ago, so I'm a little paranoid, and really, I should be feeling much better by now and not have raspy breathing. So gonna have that checked out before I attempt a long run on Saturday morning, sheesh I can't hardly get up to a speedy walk without getting outta breath. I hate feeling like this, come on body, work with me here.
YES, most definitely, there will be a Trendy Shoes, Part IV and V, probably next week some time for all you shoe fashionistas.

Got the nerve to wear the new boots to work. Here they are.... I will try to get someone to take a pic of me today, these boots go with my new size 10 dress, woo hoo.
