We made up for a crappy start yesterday to our training.
So for Day 1.... we did a 4 mile easy run - it was a tad chilly, but it was great, we were hardly tired at all - I am finding the more I run, the more I realize that I am probably better at distance running than fast running - we shall see.
Something about going out the door first thing in the morning when it's cold, does not appeal to me. My sis and I decided we are going to do our P90X in the mornings so we can stay in the nice, warm house - yes, we are spoiled, and we will do our runs before dinner.
Today - Day 2.... We went for a 2 mile run this morning, focusing on interval training - 30 second surges/8 reps - let me just say this was a quick two miles, but certainly felt like we had a great workout. And tonight it's P90X legs and Ab ripper.
Yes, I know I just said we were gonna switch it up, but I am donating blood today at lunch and didn't want to over exert myself this evening with a run, so lower body/abs before dinner tonight. Dinner is already in the crock pot - yummm, salsa chicken - so all I have to do is whip up some rice and a veggie and we can eat at a reasonable hour.
Feeling much better today, knowing we are on schedule. And....
TODAY, new TOBY KEITH Bullets in the Gun is released on I-Tunes - He's my favorite hunk of country music. Love em, Love em, I'm downloading it now - GET YOURS too !!!!
Hope everyone has a day filled with SPARKles.

Saturday was glorious - 5 mile run first thing, then off to see our high school whip their rival - sun was shining, high of 70, ahhh so nice. Then the grandkids came over to spend the night, they helped us mow the lawn. Then we made homemade pizza, enjoyed playing a board game called Imagineiff, had ice cream and watched a lame movie, Furry Vengenance. I wanted my dollar back for that movie, I rented it from the Red Box, and even a dollar was toooooo much for that movie, really stunk.
Sunday, rain, ugghhhh - cleaned house, watched Steelers get beat, man we need Big Ben back, homemade spaghetti, listened to the rain. SICK of RAIN, SICK of RAIN. So just a lazy day.
Then to start off our first day of training - we had a run planned for this morning and upper body tonight - and guesss what? RAIN, RAIN, so no run this morning, will do it before dinner tonight though, the rain will be gone, so we only skipped the upper body, but I guess we have to work around the weather. Still wished today would have started GREAT, but oh well, can't get discouraged on Day 1. And... I forgot to put the ckn in the slower cooker for dinner, so going to stop and get everyone a delicious salad, so no cooking tonight leaves lot of time for training,
My start to the week was a little shaky, but on a positive note: I am wearing a new blouse I bought in the Junior's Department - WOOO HOOOOO and it's my fav color - PURPLE, with a new necklace and earrings to match - feeling sassy in the new outfit. Hope everyone has a great start to the week.

I was so shocked to turn on the news this morning and see that a lot of schools were on two-hour delay because of torrential rain. Yes, it's been raining here since Sunday. Five straight days of rain. Today is the worst: torrential rain, flash flooding and a tornado watch until 1:00 p.m. today, and wouldn't ya know it, I left my umbrella at home, dang it.
I have seriously never heard of officials closing schools for rain. For hurricanes and nor'easters maybe, hmmm, guess they wanted to be on the safe side.
The storm is gonna blow on outta here tonight and we can enjoy some low 70's and sunshine for a week, yeah. Gorgeous fall weather ahead.
So for tonight, it's a treadmill run again. Ohhh, I need some fresh air.

I'm having my yearly mammogram today - I don't normally share such personal information with all of cyberspace but I wanted to STRESS the IMPORTANCE of it.
My dear friend PW was diagnosed with breast cancer during the spring and is going thru chemo/radiation treatments and my sister-in-law is a breast cancer survivor.
"The best protection is early detection". So ladies, do a self breast exam every month and have a mammogram, don't delay.
And... support the pink ribbon - wear one, buy one, donate to breast cancer research, etc. Support and save the ta-tas. Think pink.
