Smiley's Back

Tuesday, September 21, 2010

I used a lot of muscles yesterday to wear a frown all day, but that's over and history. Back to my ole smiley self today. Got in a 3-miler first thing this morning, had a great cup of joe with my BFF before I came to work, energized with a bowl of Total cereal and some trail mix, now ready to face the day - with a smile, of course. Glad to be back to my ole self. Hope everyone has a GLORIOUS day !!!!

A Grouchy, Introvert

Monday, September 20, 2010

I've turned into a grouchy introvert, only for today though. Not so great weekend (too much chocolate), just feel like being kinda quiet and not so bubbly today, have a headache coming on. So for today, I will wish all my SP buddies a great day and I will mope, just for today. Everyone likes to be a grouch every now and then, today it's my turn, grrrrrrr. But I love you all.

You just need someone to tickle the grouchy out of you, roflol.

I just can't picture you as a grouch. Nope, sorry, just can't. You're way too bubbly and happy.

Could it be the sugar rush. The same thing happens to me when I put too much sugar into my system. I get nasty sugar headaches and then I feel really physically sick. So maybe have a look at your sugar intake and record what happens to you physically and emotionally when you consume too much. Sometimes depending on your system one spoonful is too much. Have a great week.

Too Tired To Blog

Friday, September 17, 2010

I am over exhausted. Yesterday was crazy and last night was worse. Had to make another trip to emerg room with my daughter, headache kept getting worse, nothing would relieve it. A midnight visit to ER, they gave her an IV with some good stuff, apparently they didn't "accurately treat her" yesterday (that was a direct quote from the doc), so I was a little miffed, but as long as they finally got it right and she's feeling better and they don't send me another bill, all will be great. We got home about 2:30 a.m. and I had to be back up at 5:30 for work, really wished I could have took today off, so tired, but I was off most of the day yesterday with her. Hope I can stay awake and drag myself through the day. Hope every has a great weekend, I'm gonna catch up on some sleep.

Man, there is nothing worse than lack of sleep except maybe worry about your loved ones -- double whammy!

I'm usually ok that day, then crash & burn the next. Take it easy!

Glad to hear your daughter is better. I know how long it takes in those emergency rooms. Been there four times since August 1st. It's a minimum of 6-10 hours every time! My brother-in-law has migraines and I hear how awful they can be. I hope your daughter finds relief and doesn't get them anymore!

Rough day! I'm so sorry! Hang in there! The weekend is just around the corner...just a few more hours! Hit the hay early tonight to try to recharge! I'm glad she's feeling better - I was concerned last night but didn't want to bug ya!

A Normal Start turns into a Crazy Day, thus far

Thursday, September 16, 2010

Got up for a 4 mile run, BAM, in record time - normal
Drove to work - normal
Had breakfast and coffee - normal
Got phone call from my daughter - not so normal

Now on to the CRAZY - my 17 yr old daughter called to tell me she fainted this morning and had a horrible headache. I rushed home, took her to ER, spent most of morning at emerg room - did MRI and bloodwork - all normal, she had her first migraine - poor baby, she's home now resting with good migraine meds. Hope this is just a one time thing, migraines are the worst, thank goodness mine only come now few and far between.

Had to cancel lunch with my SP buddy - not normal for me to cancel, but had too since I couldn't be out for lunch since I missed half the morning at lunch, just didn't seem right to get to work and then go to lunch shortly after arriving.

Back at work - normal, but can't shake off horrible morning.

I like to think that ALL things happen for a reason, including the timing of events - strange but true. Hopefully the rest of today will be back to normal and hope my baby girl is feeling better when I get home tonight.

emoticonSheesh, what a day thus far

OMG, that must have been so scary! Altho I'm sorry about the migraine, I'm glad that it wasn't anything worse.

Sure puts my minor annoyances of the day in perspective.

Tony said to "BRING IT", but I only brought 5

Wednesday, September 15, 2010

Did my first P90X workout last night, shoulders and arms. We measured ourselves first, tonight we are going to take pics of the "before" so we can compare it to the "after" once we finish and are rocking some totally big guns. emoticon

We used 5 pound weights, obviously these are not heavy enough, need at least an 8 or 10, didn't really feel much burn at all, so I know I need more weight, but I had so much fun, loved the tricep chair dips.

Today is our "rest" day from running, so tonight will be a Wii dance party then the AB Ripper. This is going to be quite an adventure.

Wish I could come over and dance with you, but then again, that just might be scary.

Good job on needing heavier weights! That means you're pretty fit already.

It's a really good program. I had to play with my bands some to find out what really worked for me. There are definitely going to be excercises that you will struggle with the 5's but if you think you can increase and still get 12-15 reps, go for it.

SWEETPEA0214 9/15/2010 7:54AM

Glad you already figured out the weights. It took me a while of playing around, but I still can't use one weight for all exercises. Some I still have to use 5's (mainly the exercise where you straighten your arms out to your sides). I have the hardest time with that one. Really fatigues me quick if I use higher than 5's. Oh well, I'm a work in progress. But for most I use 10's and really need to up to 15's.

Ab Ripper X - be afraid - be very afraid!!!!!! LOL, LOL!

I'm proud of you and your sis for making this commitment to each other.
