Sitting the Bench

I'm happy to report that last nights TRIPLE fitness classes were a success. We did 1/2 of AB work, then an hour of kickboxing and iced the cake with an hour of Zumba. We totally rocked it - YEAH. I was so glad to see my kids at Zumba last night, and my daughter even brought her friend Wendy. SUPER, GREAT, the more the merrier. I even loaned Wendy my copy of THE SPARK, she was asking me all kinds of weight loss questions. I just LOVE spreading the spark.

So after hitting a TRIPLE last night, I'm definitely gonna be SITTING THE BENCH tonight, just a little lawn mowing this evening, maybe a little yoga to stretch the ole muscles. Tonight's MAIN EVENT is: a hot dog on the grill.

Remember to put a little SPARK in your day.

Good job with your fitness and with your 87 pound weight loss! Woo Hoo! The big one hundred is the number I'm going for too and I'm slowly getting there.

    Wow you guys are so motivated. I know that I will get this much energy the more I keep working out. It is hard after you workout for over a year hard and heavy and then quite and start back up only to have a few failure and then back on track. The stamina isn't as good as it used to be - BUT I KNOW IT WON'T TAKE LONG TO GET IT BACK.
This just makes me want it more.

    wow that sounds like a super fun class!!! there's a "TripleFit" class at my gym here in columbus as well - I wonder if it's similar?? i may have to give it a try!! (ahhhh i'm already juggling almost too many classes lol, who would have EVER thought this would be a problem?!?!)

Challenged to a Triple

emoticonTonight is my favorite night of the week, my kickboxing class that I just totally love, bye bye 1000 calories.

I have been officially challenged. One of the ladies that I kickbox with challenged me to take the Bosu Abs class before kickboxing. In my opinion, it's a half hour of sheer torture. The Bosu and Ab work are my least favorite thing to do, so I've been debating about it all week and decided that this is obviously an area that needs improvement. But what I really said to myself "I'm not going to let the Bosu beat me", "I'm gonna conquer my worst nightmare". I can't stand defeat - so I'm gonna do it. emoticon

After Abs and kickboxing the kids are meeting me for Zumba to try out the really great instructor I have, last time we all tried to Zumba we had a crappy instructor that was a total show off and it was not a pleasant experience for someone who is new into fitness. My kids are all new into the whole exercise, healthy living thing (they are SPARKIES in training) so hopefully tonights experience will be a good one and make a lasting impression so they will want to Zumba all the time. After all, Zumba was my "gateway" exercise, ya gotta start somewhere.

This is the plan for tonight:
Bosu Abs - 1/2 hour (i'm estimating 100 calories burned)
Kickboxing - 1 hour (800-1000 calories burned)
Zumba - 1 hour (320 calories burned)
TOTAL calories = 1220

Then home to a delicious meatloaf and scalloped potatoes, and boy will I have worked up an appetite. Wish me luck - going for a triple shot of fitness tonight - woo hoo, hope the ole bod can hang.

I challenge EVERYONE to put a little fitness in your day - you'll feel great.

    Wow-that is a LOT of workout. I LOVE BOSU-Abs workout and like to do it and spinning class back to back. Don't think I could add a third class, though. Tried it once and I was spent. Have fun with the challenge and the wonderful company!!

    I thought I was the only insane person who tripled up on exercises - glad to know I have some company. I haven't tried Zumba yet. I am so not coordinated when it comes to dancing. All flailing arms, biting lips and don't know how to move my hips in the right direction for anything.

I admire that your kids are picking up your great habits. That shows what an awesome role model you are!!!!

And enjoy that meatloaf and potatoes. Protein and carbs will be exactly what you need after that workout!

    Well, I'll be walking the dogs as usual if it doesn't rain too much and plan on doing some form of ST later after the folks leave and I get some more food shopping done.

And then there'll be laundry and cleaning and I really need to go put together a slow cooker meal . . .

CLUE, a game of mystery

I used to love to play the board game CLUE when I was young, this is a different twist. Guess what happened from the clues emoticon

It was a dark, windy morning around 4:30 a.m., a perfect 75 degrees, I had just suited up with my running gear and ipod and headed out the front door, all of a sudden GR8CGRM appears. Around the block with a rope.

Have you figured out the mystery? I gave you 3 clues -
Who: GR8CGRM
Where: Around the Block
Weapon: Rope

I haven't been running since my sister left for vacation, she's back and she had been running on vacation, she had been posting her times for our usual 4-miles, she just kept getting faster and faster, and meanwhile I was taking it easy, too easy, not running at all. I joked with her and told her she may have to tie a rope around my waist and drag me because I wasn't sure if I could keep up her new faster pace. Today was back in the routine.

Boy is she fast, I really felt like she should have tied a rope around my waist and dragged me, I kept up a little, but boy being outta running for a week, you can notice a difference. I told her it was gonna take me a day or two to get up to that pace, so tomorrow I will try again, but this time without a rope. A couple of times she got behind me this morning, I think that was her way of making sure I didn't stop - pushing me to keep going. She said she was "drafting" but it really helped knowing she was behind me cracking that whip.

When I was out for a run on vacation, there was this long leggy blonde effortlessly running on the other side of the road, and soon she was only a memory despite the fact that I was huffing & puffing & trying.

Progress Check-Up

Decided to see how much progress I've made so far this month, I've only lost 1.5 pounds this month, but inches are coming off. I've lost...

Waist 1"
Hips 1/2"
Chest 3"
Calf 1/2"
Bust 1"

Overall loss of 6.5 inches, not too shabby !!!! Gonna keep on doing what I'm doing, it's working. Hope everyone has a SPARKy day !!!!
