I'm happy to report that last nights TRIPLE fitness classes were a success. We did 1/2 of AB work, then an hour of kickboxing and iced the cake with an hour of Zumba. We totally rocked it - YEAH. I was so glad to see my kids at Zumba last night, and my daughter even brought her friend Wendy. SUPER, GREAT, the more the merrier. I even loaned Wendy my copy of THE SPARK, she was asking me all kinds of weight loss questions. I just LOVE spreading the spark.
So after hitting a TRIPLE last night, I'm definitely gonna be SITTING THE BENCH tonight, just a little lawn mowing this evening, maybe a little yoga to stretch the ole muscles. Tonight's MAIN EVENT is: a hot dog on the grill.

Tonight is my favorite night of the week, my kickboxing class that I just totally love, bye bye 1000 calories.
I have been officially challenged. One of the ladies that I kickbox with challenged me to take the Bosu Abs class before kickboxing. In my opinion, it's a half hour of sheer torture. The Bosu and Ab work are my least favorite thing to do, so I've been debating about it all week and decided that this is obviously an area that needs improvement. But what I really said to myself "I'm not going to let the Bosu beat me", "I'm gonna conquer my worst nightmare". I can't stand defeat - so I'm gonna do it.
After Abs and kickboxing the kids are meeting me for Zumba to try out the really great instructor I have, last time we all tried to Zumba we had a crappy instructor that was a total show off and it was not a pleasant experience for someone who is new into fitness. My kids are all new into the whole exercise, healthy living thing (they are SPARKIES in training) so hopefully tonights experience will be a good one and make a lasting impression so they will want to Zumba all the time. After all, Zumba was my "gateway" exercise, ya gotta start somewhere.
This is the plan for tonight:
Bosu Abs - 1/2 hour (i'm estimating 100 calories burned)
Kickboxing - 1 hour (800-1000 calories burned)
Zumba - 1 hour (320 calories burned)
TOTAL calories = 1220
Then home to a delicious meatloaf and scalloped potatoes, and boy will I have worked up an appetite. Wish me luck - going for a triple shot of fitness tonight - woo hoo, hope the ole bod can hang.

I used to love to play the board game CLUE when I was young, this is a different twist. Guess what happened from the clues
It was a dark, windy morning around 4:30 a.m., a perfect 75 degrees, I had just suited up with my running gear and ipod and headed out the front door, all of a sudden GR8CGRM appears. Around the block with a rope.

I haven't been running since my sister left for vacation, she's back and she had been running on vacation, she had been posting her times for our usual 4-miles, she just kept getting faster and faster, and meanwhile I was taking it easy, too easy, not running at all. I joked with her and told her she may have to tie a rope around my waist and drag me because I wasn't sure if I could keep up her new faster pace. Today was back in the routine.
Boy is she fast, I really felt like she should have tied a rope around my waist and dragged me, I kept up a little, but boy being outta running for a week, you can notice a difference. I told her it was gonna take me a day or two to get up to that pace, so tomorrow I will try again, but this time without a rope. A couple of times she got behind me this morning, I think that was her way of making sure I didn't stop - pushing me to keep going. She said she was "drafting" but it really helped knowing she was behind me cracking that whip.

Decided to see how much progress I've made so far this month, I've only lost 1.5 pounds this month, but inches are coming off. I've lost...
Overall loss of 6.5 inches, not too shabby !!!! Gonna keep on doing what I'm doing, it's working. Hope everyone has a SPARKy day !!!!

Day started with entire house clean by 7 a.m, - did it all. Made french toast for my girl before she left for work. Was thinking about skipping the workout, so I layed out in the sun for two hours, thinking the whole time that I should be doing my workout. So when it got too hot, came in and decided to workout. Rode 1 hr on my dinosaur, did some crunches on the ball, did some upper arm workout with my weights, finished it up with 25 minutes of yoga. Then shower.
Daughter came home and we headed out for dinner and shopping, shopping and more shopping. She got a lot of nice outfits for school, a senior has to look her best ya know. I actually found some pants and a belt, yeah. Now is home after a long day, getting ready to watch Say Yes to the Dress.
Had a great day, another busy one tomorrow. But it's great to have so much energy to be active. Hope everyone has a great weekend. Love to my fellow SPARKIES
