Progress Check-Up

Decided to see how much progress I've made so far this month, I've only lost 1.5 pounds this month, but inches are coming off. I've lost...

Waist 1"
Hips 1/2"
Chest 3"
Calf 1/2"
Bust 1"

Overall loss of 6.5 inches, not too shabby !!!! Gonna keep on doing what I'm doing, it's working. Hope everyone has a SPARKy day !!!!

Started Out Draggin

Day started with entire house clean by 7 a.m, - did it all. Made french toast for my girl before she left for work. Was thinking about skipping the workout, so I layed out in the sun for two hours, thinking the whole time that I should be doing my workout. So when it got too hot, came in and decided to workout. Rode 1 hr on my dinosaur, did some crunches on the ball, did some upper arm workout with my weights, finished it up with 25 minutes of yoga. Then shower.

Daughter came home and we headed out for dinner and shopping, shopping and more shopping. She got a lot of nice outfits for school, a senior has to look her best ya know. I actually found some pants and a belt, yeah. Now is home after a long day, getting ready to watch Say Yes to the Dress.

Had a great day, another busy one tomorrow. But it's great to have so much energy to be active. Hope everyone has a great weekend. Love to my fellow SPARKIES

    Wow, you sure had a busy day. Some R&R for you, then a good workout and how about all that shopping, shopping, shopping - now that was a fun way to burn a lot of calories LOL!!

One Measly Breadstick

I met my dad at Olive Garden for lunch today - soup, salad and A breadstick, that's right only one breadstick. You know how much willpower I had to exercise on that one. It was tough, but I knew if I had more than one, I would not be able to have a very good dinner this evening. Making to my goal, one breadstick at a time. emoticon

My Pet Dinosaur

Hey guys, the dinosaurs live, they are not extinct, in fact my dad brought me one from New York. Kind of a rare one though, it's ancient, it's primitive, it's white and makes a roaring sound.
You guessed it, it's an old exercise bike, the one with the hand moving thingys and a fan as the front wheel. Mine is similar to the pic except mine doesnt have a console for gadgets and controls.

Yep, it's old, someone neglected it and left it at a yard sale, but one man's trash is another man's treasure, but let me say, I am so thrilled with my new dinosaur. Thanks Dad, for new toy.

emoticonMy new goal is to ride the dinosaur anytime I'm watching TV - MULTI-TASK. For starters, I rode it last night for 40 minutes while I was watching TV.

Hooray for dinosaurs !!!!! Long Live the DINOSAURS !!!!!

Stayed tuned for an upcoming blog, I got something else to go with it, just have to get it operational.

    Woot for the return of the dinosaur!! 40 mins, good for you. I think I would have to put a pillow on the seat though. As much padding as I have back there you would think it would be alright, but they always hurt my hiney.

My Bust Out was a Blow Out

First of all, my fitness plans for the week had to be totally rearranged from the normal routine, so I was debating all day yesterday what to do to make up for the monkey wrench thrown into my week. I decided I was going to go home, cook and while dinner was in the oven, I was gonna BUST OUT a Jillian workout.

Well, as good as that sounded, life got in the way. I set timer on stove for 15 minutes, ran into my den, started the workout. I really hate this DVD too, it bores me to tears lately - I just absolutely get annoyed with Jillian and I have graduated from this DVD, it still gives me a workout, but not like it used to, so I am really super bored with it, so that makes it hard to do.

Timer went off on stove, I ran into kitchen , put dinner in the oven, set timer for another 15 minutes and went back to finish my workout, well needless to say, by this time everyone was moaning and groaning: "When's dinner gonna be ready", "how much longer you workin out" (in a whiny tone of voice) - so I was just plain agitated and bored so I cut it short and did a quick cool down.

Went back to kitchen to finish dinner. I tried a new recipe from SPARK Broccoli Quest - I thought it was similar to a dish my hubby had last week at Cracker Barrel that he liked alot, so I was excited about it.

I thought it was mediocre, he hated it because it wasn't like Cracker Barrel. He was comparing my healthy version to the fatty, greasy, rich version he had last week. I have to admit the ckn was a little dry, it was edible, but nothing to write home about. I endured the meal with jokes from hubby and daughter. You know I really get kinda tired of the jokes sometimes, I take it all in stride most of the time, because I know I'm not the greatest cook in the world, but dang, cut me some slack, I was experimenting with a new recipe and last night was one of those nights that I surely could have done without the jokes.

Instead of feeling like I BUSTED OUT a great workout and a fantastic dinner - it ended up being a BLOW OUT. I feel like some deflated my rubby ducky and took the wind outta my sail.

I have already made tonight's dinner (I did it last night while I was washing dishes) - you know, multi-tasking. Southwest Pasta Salad, it's another SPARK recipe, and I love it, I've made it at least 10 times, yummy. I can be happy with just a bowl of pasta salad for dinner, why can't the family? They want me to stop and get a bucket of chicken to go with it, since it's not a meal to them.

What constitutes a meal in my house? Meat, potato, vegetable, dessert. What constitutes a meal for me? something simple, a grilled cheese sandwich, a bowl of cereal, or just a small salad, couple sides of steamed veggies - helloooooo people, eat light.

I'm done venting and whining now, not really. Today is gonna be a better day, somehow I have to manage to get a run in today, it's really stressing me to get my workouts in this week, but I am certainly not gonna give them up. Wish me luck into squeezing it all in and getting it done. Hope everyone has a SPARK-tastic day.

    Thanks for the sleep ritual...have started using a tape that helps get me into a good breathing rhythm and makes the dropping off easier...now I just need to get myself to bed at a reasonable hour. emoticon

    Thanks for the reminder to get in and blog today. What a bummer about the meal comments but glad you arent letting it get you down...sounds like folks need to take turns with the cooking, makes them appreciate someone elses efforts. Glad you got some workout done but maybe you need to trade out your dvd...something different might make you feel more inspired. I use Turbojam though havent worked up to actually doing her routine it makes great background music and motivational speaking for my PT. Hope you have a great day, sounds like you are off to a great start! emoticon

    Don't give up sis.. I will be home soon to eat your crappy dinners. Haha!! Some people don't appreciate eating light like we do. We are healthier for it. Don't let Dad coming to town stress you out, Do your regular thing, You know Dad will be out visiting and hitting sack early anyway, Use treadmill to run until I get home then we will wear garlic around our necks and carry a big stick to beat the dogs off. Laugh sis!!!! Love you! emoticon
