Grumble Grumble

Tuesday, July 13, 2010

I am whining today - grumpy, grumpy, grumpy. I have a headache, cramps, general overall exhaustion and couldn't get outta bed this morning for my 4:30 workout, just plain ole didn't feel like getting up. I smacked the snooze four times until I was running a tad behind, I got dressed and ready in a flash this morning, but didn't feel like wearing a smile. grumble, grumble, grumble.

To top it all off I have the ingrown toenail from Haydes. Let me just say, if you've never had one, I wouldnt wish it on anyone. Hopefully I can get in to see doctor today, oooouuucchhhh !!! Whoa whoa is me. emoticon

Ok, I'm done grumbling now.

Hope everyone has a great day, hopefully my mood will improve.

Been there and done that before. At least you won't have a navy doc hacking off part of your toenail, lol.

I echo your sentiments. I am wearing a knee brace due to a quad tear and the other knee is starting to hurt, also, due to lack of activity. I am scheduled to see the doctor on Thursday to check on my progress.

The Long Run

Monday, July 12, 2010

My sister and I are training for a 10K in October. So this past Friday was our day for a 30 minute run, but we decided to see just how far we could really make it. We ran 7.3 miles - not too shabby, our time was pretty good considering it was our first try at that far. We kinda surprised ourselves. We did it and we weren't sore the next day. I can't believe we did it. emoticon

My Van Died

Monday, July 12, 2010

My trusty ole mini-van started spitting and sputtering on Saturday, so hubby said we could fix it. He fixed it alright... He pulled into the Chevy dealer and traded it for a brand new Malibu - guess he fixed that problem. I'm so lucky to have a great hubby.

My car is 10 years old, but has very low mileage on it, so I'm hoping to hold onto it for a while yet.

Double Dose

Thursday, July 08, 2010

Last night I decided to take back-to-back cardio classes, boy was that ambitious. 60 minute turbo kickboxing - that was one heck of a workout since our regular instructor was back from vacation, she really worked us over good, thank goodness since I was let down last week by the substitute instructor. 1000 calories burned - WooHoo !!!

Second class - 60 minutes of Zumba. Zumba is fun, but I can really no longer consider it a workout, yes, I'm burning calories but it just seemed like an extended cool down from the first class. 346 calories burned - double WooHoo!!!

We had fun and we were pretty fatigued when we got home. I decided to give the ole bod a rest this morning, no a.m. run, but will probably cook up something to do this evening.

I'm off tomorrow so here's the outlook....

6 mile run at 4:30 a.m. - breakfast - food shopping at Walmart - deep water aerobics class for one hour - be a pool lizard for 3 hours, then...

emoticonTo crown the evening... A date with Toby Keith !!!

Gee, and I thought I was doing good with my 5:15 am run. :) But it's still dark here at 4:30, so I guess I'm off the hook (don't wanna run in the dark).

Great job! Wish I had a pool to lounge at . . .

I have the same issue with zumba! I used to be able to burn 800 calories in an hr. Now if I reach 400 I am doing pretty good. Maybe if we take a break for awhile it will be more productive again. Our zumba teacher went from teaching 4 classes a week to 10 and you can really tell in the calorie burn =(( The instructor can really make or break a class!

Hand Me Down - Please

Wednesday, July 07, 2010

I finally got to meet my best SP buddy last week. We have been talking for quite a while on SP and email - WOW, she's super fantastic. We had been talking about buying new clothes and how much fun we were both having with "retail therapy", in a size smaller of course. She mentioned she had a couple of dresses that were too big for her, so this was my cue. I asked her what size and WOW, guess what, just my size. So I asked if she wouldn't mind passing them on to me. I'm not too proud to ask for hand-me-downs because I am kinda in between sizes and it's pretty senseless to spend a lot of money since I am still losing weight, and still have about 15 pounds to go. And of course, the rest is history. We finally got to meet, had great conversation and enjoyed a smoothie for lunch and two new extremely nice dresses for me.

I would like to thank my best SP buddy Jen for giving me two new dresses. It felt like it was Christmas in July. Thanks girl, I feel like a million bucks. Here's a pic (not so great pic) it was early this morning before make-up so I hope I don't scare anyone without my face on.

Hey, I am thinking maybe towards the end of the summer, about organizing a Sparkpeople clothing swap. Would anyonne be interested, it could be really fun.

Congratulations on meeting your best SP buddy! How exciting that must have been!

The clothing swapout is a great idea. That could be wonderful for a local rally. All I've brought this year have been athletic clothes.

Congratulations on your weight loss, you're looking
