My Weekend is Here !!!

Leaving tonight to visit in-laws in WV and going to huge July 4th celebration at Point Park in Pittsburg, Hope everyone has a super fantastic holiday weekend. Remember to make healthy choices, just because it's a holiday doesn't mean we can all go hog wild with the calories. I promise I will only have a tiny sliver of mom's apple pie and I will pass on the potato salad - Pinkie Promise.

As we are celebrating this weekend, please remember our fine military members who have served and are currently serving to keep our country safe. God bless our military members and our fine nation. Happy 4th everyone.

    Have a wonderful time!! I am going camping for the weekend and am determined to make good choices - get some walks in and hopefully survive the long weekend without a gain.

Last night I went to the Adam Lambert concert and let me just say WOW. He is a fantastic singer and quite the showman. I must say I was surprised at the people that attended this show, I thought there would be a bunch of, how shall I say this, ODD people, but none. All married couples, over 40 crowd so I fit right in. He did not disappoint, super fantastic actually. Here's a couple pics for you to enjoy.

    I love Adam Lambert. He got a raw deal in that stupid awards show aftermath. But it's nice to see he has maintained his composure through it all. He is who he is and he's not going to be any different for anyone. AI was such a great disappointment this year because he had set the bar so high last year. I don't think there will ever be another like him that was totally flawless start to finish.

FIELD GOAL

Today is the official day I take a look at my progress over this past month, my goal was to leave 160ville, however I fell one pound short of that goal. I reviewed everything over the past month and I do have a lot of reasons to celebrate and be thankful even though the scale let me down. Here's the deal, this month I have....

1. Lost 2.8 pounds
2. Lost 3.5 inches
3. Ate an average of 1475 daily (perfect range :)
4. Burned 8,967 calories
5. Exercised 2,298 minutes or 38.3 hours total
6. Started training for a 10K
7. Run at least 1.5 miles every day
8. Can run 3.5 miles without stopping
9. Taking cardio/bodysculpting classes - three times a week
10. Fit into a size 10/12
11. Have noticed a little muscle definition in the legs and shoulders

And last but not least...

I am FEELING skinny, sexy and alive for the first time in many years.

Not too bad overall I would say. For July I am going to keep on doing what I'm doing and see what amazing changes happen during the month.

I really wanted the touchdown this month, but I will take the field goal. Three points isn't too shabby and I'm still in the game. emoticon

    Actually, from that list of accomplishments, I would say you've ALREADY had SEVERAL touch-downs! Feeling skinny and sexy, and building the fitness level you're ALREADY AT are FAR GREATER in magnitude than one silly little pound still showing on the scale. Heavens, that's likely just WATER! Give yourself some CREDIT where it is DUE!

I never make weight-date goals. They just don't work for me. I know they do for lots of people, but my body can be very stubborn sometimes (just like me).

P.S. You're doing great at the 10K training - already running 3.5 miles straight with no stopping is something to be proud of!(Along with everything else of course!)

BBQ-ed Kickboxing Beatdown

Tried a delicious SP recipe last night. Slow cooked pork butt all day with 1 cup of ketchup and 1 can of diet coke, best BBQ ever. I served with coleslaw and tater tots, entire meal was less than 500 calories and boy did I need some extra calories last night - went to a different cardio kickboxing class - it was different instructor and different moves and WOW, did we get a great workout. When we left my sister and I were joking that we just had a "kickboxing beat down". We were completely whipped - but that means we gave it 110% and left there with 600 calories less than we came with - woot woot. Bring on some more kickboxing - YEAH !! emoticon

P.S. Didn't get up for the morning run, we have bodysculpting tonight, so we decided to save the energy for tonight's band of pain and ab crunches - ouch.

Still not moving, but ran twice as far

Got up for a morning run, the weather was absolutely beautiful, 77 degrees, slight breeze, perfect for a run. Instead of the usual 1.5 mile jog, I found my groove and just continued running until I was out of time, made it 3.5 miles this morning, more thanTWICE AS FAR. Hot dog, I am so happy with my progress this morning - I had to do something great since the scale has NOT MOVED in three weeks. What the heck?

I bumped up my calories and have been at this new calorie range and exercise regime for a month now, no progress showing on the scale, again I ask, what the heck? But I am able to run twice as far, keep up better with my kickboxing class, I'm building stamina and have noticed some muscles getting a touch of definition, but dang that scale.

The math all adds up with the calories and exercise, but no weight loss, I'm gonna say this one last time... What the heck?

Anyone know who I can see or talk to (doctor, nutrionist, etc.) to find out what is possibly wrong since I'm not losing weight?

    Just keep at it, shake up your routine with some different activities and I'm sure you'll see results in time. Out-stubborn those pounds! :-)

    Okay I'm stumped. It sounds like you're doing all the right things. I do understand your frustration. My plateau was 6 weeks long (no pounds or inches lost). You know I'm in maintenance now - staying within 5 lbs. When I get to the high end of that 5 lbs., I do a little calorie cycling. Here's a link to a calculator if you're interested.

I don't recommend the extreme fat loss numbers...and actually I don't use their numbers. I just use them as a guide - keeping to my own low and high SP recommended calories. So I would plan my week something like this...
Monday - mid-range - approx. 1450
Tuesday - low-range - 1340
Wednesday - high-range - 1600
Thursday - mid - 1400ish
Friday - low - 1350
Saturday - high- 1500-1600
Sunday - mid - 1450

    Hmmm, there is a place called In Motion Physical Therapy. The BF goes there. He brought home a pamphlet that talked about Nutrition and Weight loss - the program looked really good and was reasonably priced.
