Cardio Yard Work, a thing of the past

Friday, May 21, 2010

I used to count grass mowing as a cardio workout until yesterday. Since I've been exercising and really pushing myself lately, I've noticed that I seem to be in better physical shape. So I went to mow the lawn last night and didn't even hardly work up a sweat, hardly a work-out at all. Seems my stamina has improved - that's a good thing, so I am no longer gonna count lawn mowing as a cardio exercise. I got done and wasn't out of breath and was feeling pretty good.

At least last night I thought I was in pretty good shape but I guess I was briefly delusional. This morning I got up early to do Jillian Michaels Fat Burner DVD and those thoughts of being in pretty shape went right on outta my head. Jillian blasted me back to reality - that video kills me everytime.

I know I will be in excellent shape when i can complete that DVD without sweating profusely, my heart beating out of my chest and feeling totally whipped when I was finished. I've got a long way to go. Thank you Jillian for "keeping it real".

I love my reel (non-gas-powered) lawn mower cuz I can put on my mp3 player (no loud gas mower to drown out!) and JOG my way through my lawn mowing...woo hoo! With the right tunes I can fairly look like I'm waltzing or boogie-ing with my mower...lol!

Good for you! But I'd still count the lawn-mowing! It's still cardio even if you're not sweating!

Mowing the lawn without getting our of breath is progress! Jillian has high standards and it takes a while to work up to those.. Measure success by progress

Retail Therapy - Round 2

Thursday, May 20, 2010

Yesterday was such a disappointment, went to Penney's at lunch and even stopped at Dress Barn on my way home from work - and I came home with $$$ in my wallet and bagless - NOTHING, NADA, ZIP, ZILCH.

Don't know why I've got shopping fever, but it's like a drug - gotta have it. So I'm gonna hit up Macy's today at lunch, my goodness they are bound to have a sale, they are always having a sale - just hope there's something with my name written all over it.

A Girls Gotta SHOP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have fun shopping! I found the cutest denim and twill walking shorts and ethnic style t-shirts at Sams Club last month. No Macy's within 300 miles :(

Oooooh! While you're at Macy's, I'll be at New York and Co. They have this super cute dress I saw - totally cruise worthy! I can't wait to see if I love it as much in person as I do online! Plus, all their shorts are on sale - buy one, get one for $10! Can't beat that!!!!

Hope you find something amazing! And, thanks for thinking I'm motivational! Afterall, that little dress hainging in the door way for next weekend is my inspiration.

Workout Done to make time for RETAIL THERAPY.

Wednesday, May 19, 2010

Got up early this morning for a workout, didn't work up a sweat, still trying to take it easy, but a 30-minute walk does wonders for setting your mood for the day. emoticonSo my workout for today is done. Good for me since I want to spend my lunch hour getting some retail therapy at the mall, maybe a new blouse, a workout tank top, a desperately needed pair of shorts, or a new silver bangle (I lost the one I have had for 10 yrs). Undecided on what exactly I'm looking for but I'll know it when I find it, and of course it has to be a bargain emoticon just something new to keep the good mood going. Hope everyone has a great day.

24 to a 12

Tuesday, May 18, 2010

Bought my first size 12 dress since 1990 something to wear to a friend's wedding this past weekend. I felt like a million bucks. I can't describe how wonderful I felt wearing it, I was confident and I had a great time. I'm still hangin on Cloud Nine. I used to wear a size 22/24 and now I am in a 12. Empowering. I have worked so hard and still have a little ways to go, but buying and wearing that dress definitely gave me the "umph" I needed to keep going. Has it been hard? yes. Is it worth it? Absolutely, can you tell from the smile on my face.

Here's a pic of my hubby and daughter too. We had so much fun dancing the night away, something about a new dress and hot pink heels to boost the confidence.

Thanks so much to all my SP friends, who motivate me and keep me going, you are all fabulous, couldn't have come this far without you.

Outta Commission

Tuesday, May 18, 2010

Well I am officially out of commission as far as working out for a few days, had a minor surgical procedure yesterday and really sore today. No workout videos for this week, but I can manage a walk, but no running. Maybe a week off will do me good, kick me off this plateau.
