Thanks to all my Spark buddies for comments about my early post about fitting in the workout today. I decided to bite the bullet and go for a walk at lunch - yes I opted for smelly and sweaty, but it was worth it. Really hot out there so i didn't have the usual "pep in my step" but nonetheless, workout is done for today, unless of course I can get extra tonight :). Hope everyone is enjoying their day. Thanks again for all the encouragement and ideas.

BTW I solved the dinner issue - gonna stop and get a bucket of KFC chicken, that should be real cute strapped onto my motorcycle - there's something you don't see everyday - haha emoticon and later I will make myself some refreshing low calorie, healthy pasta salad.

I opted for hot and burnt! My left arm is pink! From 30 minutes! Sheesh!

Outta Control

My life has been spinning outta control for the last two days. My husband started remodeling our master bathroom. So that simply means everything is put on hold to help him, not that I mind helping but everything else in life has been put on the back burner and I'm hating it. I missed my workout last night because WE had to go to Home Depot. I tried not to be too hysterical about missing my workout but I am really hating this whole remodeling thing for now. I can see that I am going to have to find an alternative workout for the next week - don't know when or how since I can't get outta bed early in the mornings and lunch time is a possibility but I can't really work up a sweat and go back to work all hot and smelly. He has help coming over tonight, on MY GYM NIGHT, and wants me to cook dinner for everyone. I don't mind cooking for everyone, but dang, it's interrupting my gym night. I'm so frustrated at being thrown a curve ball. Just had to vent - thanks for listening SP friends, couldn't do this without ya. emoticon

    Vent away!!!That is what we are hear for. Cook and then go to the gym. You will figure it all out. Hey don't disturb 'em while they are working!

    well you can go to the gym right after work to then dedicate the night to helping him... or you can say well i dont mind helping you but i need 60 minutes of me time... as for cooking... a late dinner perhaps? definitely do what is important to you so it doesnt lead to bad emotions and added stress! :) Keep at it! You can do this!

    Sorry to hear it. I sure know how you feel. Can you not either make a pot of chili and set it out w/ bread, or have him order a pizza and beer for all his helpers? It IS your nite. Of course it is up to you: some things in a marriage are worth fighting for and somethings aren't. I suppose it does depend on if this is a habit as well..like do you have to give up your gym night often due to his "suggestions" or is this one nite really just special? I would think anyone coming over who asked where you were, would be thrilled for you that you are at the gym! You go girl! Otherwise, go in your room and march in place for half an hour then do sit ups, pushups, arm curls, lunges etc and you will get a work out. maybe not the one you are used to but your body will thank you... emoticon emoticon I hope you find your peace.     Thanks for the comment on my blog! Sorry about your predicament...try not to let it stress you out too much! While you're cooking dinner, why not do some cardio right at the stove - do some squats, lunges, running in place with high knees, jumping jacks, etc. I guess it depends on what you're cooking. I wouldn't recommend doing any of the above while handling any sharp objects! emoticon

    Stroll around the outside aisles of Home Depot a few times and that's almost a mile of exercise. emoticon Haul along hubby for extra points.

    Could you make a big salad and leave it in the 'fridge and a big pot of spaghetti and leave it on the stove - ready for the "workers" to help themselves when they're done? (And then head to the gym?) Just a thought...

I understand your worries about not getting your workouts in. I'm the same way. I hope things settle down soon so you can get back to your routine.

  Oh Boy, do I hear you! That sounds just like my life all of the time. lol Since I started doing the real estate, my family is really having a hard time getting used to the fact that I am no longer at everyone's beck and call. I ahve a paper pile 2 feet thick on my desk right now, but I am at the office early and no one is here. YEAH! maybe i can catch up. We really need to get our walk in tonight. Maybe we can go 2 laps!!!! :)

    Awwww - I know how that goes. The BF thinks I need to go to home depot with him to get his mulch and dirt, etc. Is it possible for you to maybe get a work out in at home? Or, maybe a good long walk while his help is there? Just some alternatives to the gym...I know it isn't the same, but at least you're still getting the activity in!

Revolving Door

I consider my front door to be a revolving door for family and friends to come and go. Had a busy weekend, the best part about it was that I had a lot of family and friends over all weekend. We worked on remodeling our bathroom, took a motorcycle ride, son spent the night, Wii bowling and we topped off the weekend with an amazing family dinner. Grilled ribs and chicken breasts, italian dressing potatoes, snap peas, homemade yeast rolls and a pineapple cream cheese cake. Great company and food, and I stayed within my calories. Great to spend time with such a wonderful family and great friends, I love hosting family dinners, it's a labor of love. Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. emoticon

My Weakness - Mexican Food

Last night took daughter to our favorite Mexican restaurant, Mexican food is my weakness, but I was determined not to over eat. And I didn't, left there feeling full and guilt free. Had 1/3 of my daughters quesadilla and only a handful of chips, filled up on salad. Yeah for me !!! emoticon
