15-Pound Ankle Weight

Thursday, March 25, 2010

I am puppy sitting for my son for the next few days. Last night I was doing my cardio (Wii Just Dance) and the little rascal kept nipping my ankles, so I just kinda gently brushed him off. He kept coming back for more because he thought it was play time. I kept on dancing and the next thing I know, I have a 15-pound ankle-weight hanging on my pant leg by his teeth. Needless to say I had to take a break to play with such a cutie. Haven't had a puppy in the house for 5 years - sheesh, they are a lot of work.

Haha! I totally get where you're coming from! Dakota thinks it's always play time and becomes a 50 lb pain in the butt when it's workout time....but! you've gotta love them and their endless energy to play :-)

Enjoy the fabulous weather today!!!

I Must be Nuts, Asking for Pain

Wednesday, March 24, 2010

I just signed up to take a new fitness class, Kettle Bells. A friend of mine is an instructor at this new studio in VB and she has been encouraging me to come so I decided I would give it a shot, this Saturday. I have heard that you will be sore when you're done with the workout, so am I nuts asking for pain? Yes and no, they promise results will come quickly, so I am sucking it up and gonna do it. Need to add some gusto to my usual workouts, and I really would like to see some results. I think I may have muscles underneath all this flab so I am anxious to uncover a few. Wish me luck.

Wow! Let me know how you like it and how sore you are.

I do kettlebells at home. I use a 10 lbs wt, and don't really find that I'm sore, but I do like it. It's quite different!

My life is a Circus

Tuesday, March 23, 2010

For some reason my otherwise mundane life has turned into a three ring circus. It just seems that way to me all of a sudden, because things really aren't all that busy or different. This week I have to... finish income taxes, meal planning, grocery shopping, drive to suffolk to pick up my sons dogs (i'm dog sitting all week), wedding shower this weekend - gee whiz, how am I gonna fit in time at the gym with all this other stuff going on? Gotta figure out how to juggle it all.

Tomorrow they'll be installing my new kitchen cabinets . . . I always feel all out of sorts when my routine is knocked off kilter, even if it's for a good thing!

Make the commitment to yourself. If there is no way... just do a ten minute walk.

It's ok! You'll figure it all out! Just take it one day at a time and you'll get all the workouts on :-) Don't get too frazzled!!

Whirlwind Weekend

Monday, March 22, 2010

Awesome weekend. Went to my first SP rally and met some really nice new people who share many of the same goals. Test drove a Harley Davidson motorcycle, WOW, that was awesome, but I didn't buy one yet, still trying to talk the hubby into it. Went to a high school musical, Cinderella, went out for ice cream after. Yard work, and a country concert to top off the weekend. Sheesh, I thought you were supposed to rest on the weekends. Seems like the weekend was just one big whirlwind. I did manage to eat within my calorie range (even though none of our meals were planned ahead) and I did do my cardio workouts. It's all a matter of priorities - taking care of myself and SP - are at the very top of my list.

Wow, that sounds like a GREAT weekend. Mine are so boring, usually. I did get a lot of reading done, some nice walks with the dogs, some yoga . . . have I put you to sleep yet?
