Back Seat for Butter Beans

Thursday, March 11, 2010

I was so excited about cooking a new recipe, however, i stopped at Walmart on my way home for milk and dog food and I made a quick stop in the electronics department to see if they had a Wii. JACKPOT, they had one, I've been looking since Christmas. I was so excited that I got a Wii, I rushed through dinner and the much anticipated butter bean salad so I could hook up the Wii and get started. Dinner was great, but it took a backseat to the Wii. My daughter, sister and I played the Wii for two hours - Just Dance game. It is so fun, quite a workout emoticon but time just flies when you are having fun. There is something for everyone on that game, slow, fast, country, hiphop, you name it. We had so much fun, no one wanted to quit but it was getting late. I think we found our new favorite thing - Wiiiiiiiiiiiii emoticon

Butter Bean Salad

Wednesday, March 10, 2010

I can't believe I am so excited to cook dinner tonight. I am trying a new recipe, butter bean salad, to go along with my turkey burgers on the grill. It's my own personal celebration of Spring. The spring and summer are full of good things to eat (my favorite seasons) - tomato and cucumber salads, fresh corn - yumm.

Just love the taste of warm weather complimented with something on the grill and some fresh veggies and fruit. I can't wait to get home, anticipation is killing me. Oh yeah, strawberry season is just around the corner. emoticonGet happy people, spring is in the air emoticon - it's been a long winter, too long.

Biking it to Work

Tuesday, March 09, 2010

Today I rode my motorcycle to work, a little brisk, but the ride home should be fantastic, hoping it will get to 60 degrees today. Loving the sunshine. I googled this morning to find how many calories motorcycle riding burns and surprisingly...anywhere from 120 - 170 calories per hour (depending on your body weight). Wow, a new exercise, and believe me sometimes it feels like strenuous exercise. Bring on more warm weather, I need to burn a few more "riding calories".

I haven't rode a motercylce in years. Of course I wasn't the driver, I was just the rider. Don't think that burns as much. We are in the thirties here. Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment. You will reach 100 pounds lost as you keep doing the right things and changing your lifestyle. You will realize your dreams. I lost the 100 pounds and now I have to finish the job.
