Grouchy Monday

Monday, March 08, 2010

I was rudely awaked at 3:30 a.m. with my Chihuahua licking my nose to go outside to potty. Sheesh, I was in the middle of a good dream and couldn't finish it, even after I went back to bed - Arrrgggh - I hate it when that happens. Went to get my teenager up for school, she was snippy and nippy and snoty about having to get up - sheesh, what a grouch. Seems like everyone was just plain grumpy and grouchy. But I have not let that spoil my day. I determine the kind of attitude I am going to have for the day. I just put a smile on my face and a song in my heart. Looking forward to a productive day. emoticon

Bummer about the way your day started, but it is so true that we determine our own attitude and Im glad you were able to turn it around. We have been gray and drizzly today which put me in a good mood...it doesnt happen too often out this way so usually enjoy it when it does. Hope you have a great rest of the week!

Sounds like my morning only the chihuahua was my hubby getting up for work and the teenager in this case is my 6 yr old son. He too didn't want to get up. I think I need to adopt your attitude, smile on my face and song in my heart!!

Woman of Leisure

Friday, March 05, 2010

Today is gonna be great. Spending all day with my best friend. Dropping motorcycle off for a tune up to get ready for lovely riding weather tomorrow. Hit the mall with a few coupons for freebies from Victoria's Secret and Bath and Body Works, lunch at our favorite salad bar spot (Ruby Tuesdays), topping it off with a trip to the gym. Then it's back to reality by dinner hour - making turkey breast and a new SP recipe (maple-mashed sweet potatos), with a side of fresh broccoli. Hope new recipe is as good as it sounds. Nothing like a day goofing off with your best friend to brighten your mood and lift your spirits. Girls Rock !

The Gift of Time

Thursday, March 04, 2010

A lady at the gym approached me last night and asked if I wanted her last 15 minutes on the eliptical, she was finished and wondered if I would like to hop on. Wow, such a nice surprise for someone to be nice at the gym, usually people are standing there pacing and watching their watch and giving you the evil eye stare-down waiting for you to hurry up and get off the equipment. A breath of fresh air for a change. So thanks to this nice girl, I got an extra 15 minutes added onto my workout. A random act of kindness, let us all be mindful of the gift of time. (I know the last sentence sounds kinda corny, but so true)

Not corny at all. One seemingly small act on our part can affect many others. You got 15 min gift. It made you feel good. You shared that good feeling w/ us and on and on it goes. We all need the reminder to slow down and take the time. Thank you for the reminder.

In Record Time

Wednesday, March 03, 2010

Record time in Walmart 1:07 grocery shopping last night. It's funny that my sister made a game of it (Supermarket Sweep). My sister and I both got a cart and she checked her watch and yelled "time" and she took off like a bolt of lighting. We shopped for 3 weeks worth of food, with coupons and price matching (we rock !) and we saved $13.00. At the checkout line my sister checked her watch again and said 1:07, I really didn't think she was seriously tracking our time, too funny. We are gonna be eating good with all my new SP recipes I'm gonna make. A dreary chore was turned into fun however, not looking forward to it again in three weeks.
