To Plan or Not To Plan ?

Tuesday, March 02, 2010

I have been so diligent the past six months about coming up with a three week dinner plan for our family. It really is convenient and planning ahead helps me track calories better and to eat and cook healthy meals, and I can work in quick meals on my gym nights in the crock pot. It helps to eliminate all those stops at the grocery store during those three weeks, because I have already planned and have been shopping for all ingredients ahead of time. Occasionally I have to stop by the store to pick up fresh fruit and veggies, since they won't keep in the frig too long. Being organized is great, but why is it that I really hate to sit down and actually do it? I love the convenience later, but when i am going to like doing it ? It's one dirty chore, but well worth it.

I think you need to learn how to deligate! Be the manager- let someone else who eats this food start planning

Another's Story

Monday, March 01, 2010

This morning when I logged on to SP, I was reading a blog post from a woman who was feeling: ugly, ashamed, inadequate, alone, overwhelmed, just generally sounded like she had given up on everything. I felt so bad for her, cuz I've been there and have had the same feelings of hopelessness when I first started on my weight loss journey, over two years ago. I made a comment on her blog to hopefully send a little encouragement her way. My heart just ached for her, hope we all can share encouragement with others who may need it, you never know who's spirits you can lift by just a few simple words. Others need to know WE CARE.

    You are so sweet emoticon
It's to hope the other person takes you words of encouragement to heart and will start to feel better about herself.

It is always hard when we feel that way. Thanks for the positive words and kind heart. We all could use more of that.

Tonight the whole family is going to Lonestar for dinner. Bring on the steak, I'm hungry. Been good with calories today, so a splurge is gonna be great.

Boy was I surprised

Thursday, February 25, 2010

SURPRISE - We wll have a very special guest attending the fashion show tonight - My mom flew in last night from Salt Lake, just to see Kate make her runway debut - WOW, that is the sweetest thing ever. Kate burst into tears as soon as she saw her and just hugged her forever. Wish I woulda known she was coming so I could have planned some stuff, but what the heck, suprises are fun. My mom pulled off the ultimate surprise!

Slightly Disappointed

Wednesday, February 24, 2010

I went to gym last night to try out the "knee" on the eliptical and all the machines were already booked, so I had to settle for biking. Knee held up ok, but was totally cheated out of an extra 150 calories burned. Eliptical workout burns 300 and bike only 155, so I had to settle for 155. Oh well, some is better than none. I am going to have to go to the gym later in the evenings in order to work out on cardio equipment, it's just too darn crowded at 5:30, but later really doesn't work because it's dinner time. Hmmmm, gotta figure out what's gonna work with my schedule.

I too hated being at the mercy of what machines were available at the gym, so I bought an inexpensive treadmill for my home. Now, I have no excuses for not working out, and can accommodate my very busy schedule. Good Luck!

You are right some is better than none. At least you didn't turn around and walk out. emoticon I used to get frustrated at the gym for same reason so I broke down and bought a treadmill for my house - best money I ever spent!! My gym used to impose time limits and I hated it.
