Slightly Disappointed

Wednesday, February 24, 2010

I went to gym last night to try out the "knee" on the eliptical and all the machines were already booked, so I had to settle for biking. Knee held up ok, but was totally cheated out of an extra 150 calories burned. Eliptical workout burns 300 and bike only 155, so I had to settle for 155. Oh well, some is better than none. I am going to have to go to the gym later in the evenings in order to work out on cardio equipment, it's just too darn crowded at 5:30, but later really doesn't work because it's dinner time. Hmmmm, gotta figure out what's gonna work with my schedule.

I too hated being at the mercy of what machines were available at the gym, so I bought an inexpensive treadmill for my home. Now, I have no excuses for not working out, and can accommodate my very busy schedule. Good Luck!

You are right some is better than none. At least you didn't turn around and walk out. emoticon I used to get frustrated at the gym for same reason so I broke down and bought a treadmill for my house - best money I ever spent!! My gym used to impose time limits and I hated it.

Give it another shot

Tuesday, February 23, 2010

Tonight at the gym I'm gonna try to do eliptical tonight, at least try, see how my knee holds up. Sure hope I can get a good cardio workout, I have had to skip eliptical for the past two weeks (stupid knee) and I have really missed doing it (never thought I'd say that). Love it when I leave the gym after a great work out, makes me feel like I have accomplished something. I'm crossing my fingers.

Fresh Air and Cardio

Monday, February 22, 2010

Had to mow grass at my father's rental property on Saturday. Sheest, what a workout, the grass hadn't been cut in quite a while and new renters are moving in on Tuesday, so i had to muster up the energy and do it first thing Saturday morning. Enjoyed the fresh, brisk air and managed to count that as my cardio for the day. Can't wait til Spring.

Hate that the grass was so high but glad you enjoyed the fresh, brisk air! We are supposed to have snow again tomorrow and I am NOT looking forward to that yucky mess again even though the snow is beautiful and rare. I agree...Spring can't get here fast enough!!

I think it is heroic -- and ironic -- to mow grass in February after blizzards have killed the grass all over the East Coast!

Way Too Early

Saturday, February 20, 2010

I am up way too early for a Saturday. Got up at 5 a.m., have so much to do today had to get an early start. Hope I have all the energy to accomplish everything. Sheesh, just not enough hours in the day, but I had to get a few minutes spark time before my day would be complete.

I know how you feel about having to get your Spark minutes in - no matter how early. Fortunately, I didn't have to get up early today. But good for you for being smart with your time.

Have a good day!

No Fun Skinny Dipping

Thursday, February 18, 2010

I really thought I would be so happy to eat a bowl of frozen yogurt with a lot of toppings, but turns out, I was kinda disappointed. Really wasn't as good as I had wanted it to be, don't ya hate it when that happens? So all the hype yesterday and anticipation was so totally over rated, but nonetheless I ate my reese's peanut butter cup yogurt with a lot of fruit toppings and nuts, and left feeling letdown. But at least if wasn't a guilt feeling for overeating or going over calorie limit - it's was kinda a good let down, if that makes sense. No more skinny dip for me.

Sorry you were disappointed. But that could be a good thing - at least you are not craving it now. Right?!
