I'm baaccckkkk!!!! and a few pounds heavier, uggh. Vacation this year packed on 3-pounds, but no worries, I'll shake that off in no time. I ate really well, lots of healthy foods. One of the ladies prepared this lovely plate of appetizers, yummy.
I believe it was the lack of exercise and a lot of fruity umbrella drinks that did me in, but despite the weight gain, I had a super fantastic time. I lived a carefree lifestyle with some amazingly fabulous women - five days, five ladies of leisure.
We enjoyed themed nights (luau, Mexican, Sex & the City) complete with costumes and accessories, lots of laughter and lying on the beach or by the pool. (for inquiring minds: I did wear my bikini and felt pretty confident wearing it, but not brave enough for pics) The funnest night we had was my last night there, it was glow-stick night, we donned our necklaces, tiaras and glow-wear and had some hysterical fun involving: a kitchen rolling chair, a deck and an elevator (you figure that one out, what happens in the Outer Banks...stays in the Outer Banks, lol)
I did manage to get in one run while I was there, but after that I just put tracking and fitness aside. And I see where that got me - 3 pounds - so lessoned learned, you always have to be vigilant, but it really was nice to escape EVERYTHING for 5 days.
Here's a pic from our deck, the penthouse, woo hoo - we traveled in style.
A little site seeing and shopping...how you like my new boyfriend??
It was a super vacation, can't wait to have my BFF with me next year and to expand our circle of friends.
Ended the week with a super father's day celebration... We took the GS on his first visit to the zoo, he liked the giraffes..
Took the motorcycle out for a spin, hadn't done that in a while, but it was a quick trip, kinda nippy....
Enjoyed cooking a super dinner of lasagna for the hubby with a pineapple upside down cake for dessert, with the assistance of my lovely little helper - he was organizing my tupperware.
Back at it yesterday with the food tracking and got in a short 4 mile run, great weather today, so I'm sure I'll do a run this evening. Vacation life was fantastic, but the SPARK-life is the best.

Well the big day has arrived... I'm forever 39. Started the big day off on the right foot. I ran to the office this morning, I've been wanting to do it forever and I finally had the opportunity to. Perfect time for me to try out my birthday gift the DH got me. A Garmin Forerunner 410 - this is the coolest gadget ever, I'm hoping it will help improve my running - it's high tech going to take me a while to figure out how to make that watch work to it's potential so I can work up to mine.
DH let me order the watch from Amazon, but he slipped out to the store last night for a surprise. He awoke me this morning with a lovely card, and he bought me this new awesome cup for my smoothies and to take with me on vacation, what a thoughtful gift and quite a surprise too.
My DD came by the office to deliver some balloons, and she bought me some of those big mamma jamma windchimes I've been wanting forever. She is such a ray of sunshine. We enjoyed a healty lunch at Cracker Barrel with lots of veggies and only ONE biscuit for me. Woo Hoo.
One the way back from lunch, this dude backed into my car - well Happy Birthday to me, lol. Whatcha gone do? Just laugh it off, it could have been so much worse, but thankful that it wasnt. That big black line, is a deep gash in my car, oh well - the guy was nice and apologetic, and I've already filed a claim, no harm done, just aggravation now to get it fixed.
Looking forward to a nice dinner with some ole friends. Thank you all for the birthday wishes. But one last thing.......
I've been saving this one all week....
It's last call at this party, so....
let's live it up.....
everybody out of your seats and.....
wobble with me....

The birthday week party is in full swing now. It's Happy HOUR......
Anticipation is killing me.... Waiting on the UPS guy to bring my special birthday present [stay tuned].
A low-key night last night, whipped up a super fantastic omelette for dinner last night - spinach, onions, pepper jack cheese, ham and a side of hash browns for dinner. It's great to have breakfast for dinner sometimes. Lounged around trying to finish my book... Born to Run, but I was just so sleepy, I think all the hype of my upcoming vacation was getting the best of me last night.
Think I may try to run to work tomorrow, get a long run in before I go on vacation, I'm still kicking that idea around, but I'm hoping to have a new toy to place with along the way....come on UPS guy.
Still keeping up with fitness minutes goal for the month and seven smiley faces.
Getting Buff no excuses.

It's a celebration -
It's birthday week and things just keep getting better - so help me keep this party going..........
I went out for a 7-mile run last night by myself and decided to kick things up a knotch. It's was runner's heaven....a gorgeous evening, 68 degrees, a gentle breeze - perfect conditions. I told hubby I'd be back in about an hour and off I went. Decided to see how far and how fast I could push it. I really worked my short little legs to the max with a...ya ready for this?............
A new P R !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
7-miles in 1:19 flat, woo hoo. I was so dang happy with myself, you would have thought I won the lottery, lol. I never in a million years knew running could produce such a high - both on the physical level and the mental level. I know to some it may not be "that" fast but for me........I'm over the moon. I even stopped for a couple of minutes to help a little boy who had fallen off his bicycle, he had scraped his knee and elbow, but I think his pride was hurt worse than he was. His mom was on her way to pick him up, I asked him if he wanted me to stay until she got there, he just sniffled and told me no. Awwwh I felt so bad for him, he was the cutest little boy, blond hair, blue eyes, probably about 9 or 10.
This has been a super week thus far with a super dinner birthday party for my DD on Monday, a super run for me last night and now for today......DH is taking me birthday shopping for a runner's dream gift....he's buying me a Garmin tonight.
The big 43 birthday is only 3 days away....so let's keep this party going, celebrate with me. What are you celebrating today??????
Stop by tomorrow to see how far we can crank up the party, woo hoo.
P.S. Cherry Lime GU tastes like Robitussin, yuck, ewwwwh !!!!!!!!!!!!

Last night’s party went off well, it was my DD 19th Birthday, my baby is all grown up *sniffle sniffle* . She's wearing our traditional special occasion tiara.
She wanted a mermaid themed party - and she's how old again???? glad she still celebrates the kid in her. Went to the ever-so-dangerous and tempting Mexican restaurant. My meal strategy worked great and I decided to stand up and mingle with everyone (to keep my mind off nibbling those yummy chips), sheesh disaster averted on that one and I skipped the guacamole, YEAH. DH and I shared a chicken breast with cheese and onions and some rice, so I came in 30 calories under for the day and I even had a three bite-size piece of cake.
To my surprise, my daughter absolutely loved the homemade birthday card I made her. She loved the Disney mermaid reusable shopping bag I put her gifts in – with the Disney mermaid beach towel, an IOU for another surprise and a sundress (that shocked me - mine and her taste tend to differ greatly in the fashion department). She even loved the homemade mermaid birthday cake - the ole SP diet coke cake recipe. She got a sassy pair of leopard pumps from her BF's family - she better hide those, cause momma really liked them. She has a "thing" for shoes too, bet you know where she gets that from.
We all left and to my surprise she was home when I got there – she wanted to show me all the stuff she bought at the mall yesterday. Her BF took her on a shopping spree for her birthday and she tried on the dress I bought her – it fit perfect and she was very happy, and it looked really great on her, I can’t wait to borrow it, lol.
And they all lived happily ever after. The End.
