Monday - Progress/Accountability

Tuesday, January 24, 2012

Enjoyed a super Monday, how bout you?

emoticonAte well within calorie range
emoticonTen minute Tony Horton lower body workout, burned 132 calories
emoticon3.25 miles on the treadmill, ran 2.5 miles of that, testing out the hip and knee still, so far so good, burned 351 calories
emoticonOverall exercise for the day = 483 calories gone bye-bye emoticon

Wearing the new high heels to the office today, I measured them and they are five inches, but prob only 3-1/2 since they are platforms, probably not a good idea since my thighs are a bit sore [understatement] from that workout last night, owwieee. Lots of thigh action and squats, again... ooooucchhhh.

Today's meal plan is looking great - leftover pork BBQ I cooked over the weekend - yummy.

I W I L L do the Spark Bootcamp DVD - Cardio/Scuplt workout tonight, 30-minutes on the eliptical and I selected 9 upper body weight exercises to do tonight while I'm watching TV.

Time to get buff emoticon NO E X C U S E S.

Thanks for the tips on mexican food...its one of my favorites too and try to keep my trips to a minimum. I always find your exercise stories inspiring...thanks! Keep up the great work

Do you get your calorie count for the treadmill from the machine or Spark. I found there to be a big discrepancy yesterday between what spark said and what my machine said.

Way to go on the training!! Does your knee bother you at all? I'm so glad it is healed!!!

Run on!! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

It's All About the Shooz

Monday, January 23, 2012

Enjoyed a FANTASTIC weekend, structured workouts fell by the wayside just a tad, but I improvised and still got in the exercise, glad to report I'm back on track today.

FANTASTIC Friday: morning started with a WOW !!! Got on the scale and this is what I saw, a two pound loss...

This is the lowest I have been since high school, looks out 130's I'm heading your direction, FINALLY!!!!

FANTASTIC Food: Cooked my BFF's famous pork bbq recipe, it was my first attempt, and man-ole-man was that the best BBQ I've ever had, sooo yummy (not as good as hers, though). Slow roasted for 11 hours. Had the kids over for dinner and it was a huge hit. Not as many leftovers and I would have like to had, but still some to freeze for meals later on.

FANTASTIC Saturday: We were visiting a family member at the hospital on Saturday, and my husband dragged me into the gift shop. I couldn't figure out why in the heck he wanted to stop in there, but then I realized why. Holy Ham, they had a whole shelf of collectable shoes. How did my "shoe radar" not detect this? I collect miniature shoes (I'm sure this is not a surprise to those who know that I'm a shoe fanatic), but he was so sweet to buy me this one to add to my collection.

Stopped into Target to get some essentials and just happened to pass the shoes, haha. I always "just happen" to pass the shoe department and Holy Ham, my favorite four letter word... S A L E !!!, even better "CLEARANCE SALE". I got three new pair of shoes for $25.00 (total)(, how's that for a bargain? I just couldn't resist.

And Harley likes shoes too, boxes that is.

FANTASTIC Sunday: Enjoyed football playoffs at Maria's - Yeah, the Giants are heading to the superbowl. Great end to a great weekend.

Looking forward to a great week of workouts, nothing on the calendar this week, except lots of ME time.

Gosh girl I am soooooo jealous = I love your new shoes and look at the price. REALLY I AM GETTING SICK OF THIS - I need to do some retail therapy with my sister. Gonna happen this friday. I have a $5.00 off coupon that I can also use with this 15% off coupon at my local Sally's Beauty Supply. Gonna get some deals I really hope. Wish me luck with it. BUT I LOVE SHOES TOO and want to find some deals like that - Makes it so you don't feel guilty for buying them. LOL

Day 4 Report and Ramblings

Thursday, January 19, 2012

emoticonI did my 22 minute Spark workout before heating up leftovers, last night. Then I decided to get on the treadmill before American Idol, did 40 minutes on that. Ate well within calorie range today, so I will call today another SUCCESS.

Well tonight is my night to stay up late since I’m off tomorrow emoticon. I WILL do my Spark DVD Cardio-Sculpt workout late tonight and I WILL walk on the treadmill while watching Grey’s Anatomy.

Notice the capital "I WILL", which brings me to an article I read...

"You are more likely to follow through if you say "I will" do my workout rather than "I will work out this week".

It's a pact you make with yourself, and we wouldn't want to let ourselves down. I WILL, You Will, We all Will.

emoticonTomorrow on my day off and i will be attending my sister’s graduation ceremony, she is graduating from nursing school as an LPN, yeah for her, she’s done a great job, so proud of her. Only 8 more months and she will be an RN. Stop by her page (GR8CGRM) to give her a Woo Hoo and Congrats.

I mighthave time to hit up our local thrift store to see if they have good bargins and anything I can't live without and do the grocery shopping, this FREAK is out of fruit, lol. Can’t live without my fruit.

emoticonGonna cook some salmon tonight, it’s my first attempt and ppl tell me it’s hard to cook since you don’t want it under cooked or over cooked, so it may just wind up in the trash, emoticon but there’s always the good old back up plan – Grilled Cheese sandwiches.

I will be MIA for the weekend, but return on Monday for a full report and accountability, until then.... enjoy your weekend, love to all. Keep on SPARKING yall.

The Oscar Mayer Weiner

Wednesday, January 18, 2012

You can call me the Oscar Meyer Weiner, cuz I’m hot and on a roll – muahahahaha.

I couldn’t wait to get to blog this morning, I’m so excited. Here’s how day 3 went.

I got home and hubby had bought me some beautiful flowers and a balloon for our anniversary, he wasn’t supposed to get me anything, but I was happy he did.

We decided to go out to dinner anyway, I had the chicken salad plate and it was yummy.

After dinner we went home, he layed down to watch TV and I decided to hit the treadmill for an hour.

I did three miles, fairly slow but I eventually worked up to jogging a mile, and it felt great, no pain. I felt like I could have run forever. I decided not to overdue it and stopped after running the mile then I did another mile as a cool down. I was so excited that I finally ran a little. After the treadmill I stretched out really good and iced the hip and knee, just as a precaution. Boy did I feel great after that.

This morning I got 20 points on the spark wheel and 25 on the bonus spin – holy ham, doesn’t take much to excite me, lol. And my daily shoe calendar features one hot shoe today, woo hoo again – and it’s in PURPLE, my fav, but where would I ever wear those if I had a pair? a little too fancy for the office.

So day three was a smashing success – I ate within range and got a jog in, did I mention how excited I was to jog emoticon emoticon

Tonight (Day 4) is the 22 minute cardio blast workout with SPARK DVD, then I was going to ride my bike while I watch American Idol.

Did I mention how estatic I am, can you feel the excitement? Sheer elation, over joyed to the max. Look out...... I'm back with a score to settle with myself.

Day 2 of 28-Day Bootcamp

Tuesday, January 17, 2012

Last night I did the Short Cardio and Tone workout on the SPARK DVD for a total of 26 minutes and burned 158 calories, not bad for a short workout, however I did find myself huffing and puffing, so it was definitely a good workout.

After the SPARK workout I hopped on the Nordic Trak for 25 minutes, woo hoo.

I think I've found my exercise mojo again, FINALLY !!!!! I need to keep the momentum going.

What keeps you in the mood for exercise? How do you stay motivated?

Glad to hear you are back at it again and inspired to make some marks. I usually do my biking in front of the tv at night but in order to keep my PT in the morning going I listen to Turbojam's Cardio Mix one. Chalene is very enthusiastic and I hear her tell me one more or keep it up, breathe and tighten those abs...all the things I need to hear when working on the abs to support my back. Great music on there too. Keep up the great work!

I really need to get an outdoor fix to stay motivated...which is a challenge this time of year as I'm increasingly averse to cold weather! So lately it's been just plain determination that drags me to the fitness center. Mixing it up helps...love the Spinning class, which I usually trade in for getting out on the road with my bike when the weather improves.
