It was a great weekend, my grandson got to spend his very first overnight with the DH and I. WOW, I had forgotten how labor intensive babies are, lol. No really, I enjoyed being able to spend quality time with my boy, he's so precious. He's just a little over three months old and at the smiling and cooing stages, all I wanted to do was make him laugh and smile.
He had so much fun, he fell asleep, hee hee.
Spent all day yesterday watching football at our friends house. I know I've mentioned before that our friend Maria is an excellent cook and is Filipino. We just love all the filipino favorites she cooks up, but I asked her to please don't cook a lot this weekend. Well she was so sweet to make this wonderful plate of snacks for us, with me in mind. She made the chicken salad with fat-free sour cream and skim ricotta cheese in place of mayonnaise; cheese and crackers; and included two types of delicious grapes. I thought that was the sweetest thing, to amend her recipes and cooking style just for me. She knows I'm watching my calories. YEAH, the SPARK has been spread once again.
Too bad our Steelers lost yesterday, but as a great spirited football fan I have to admit they surely didn't play like they wanted to win, thus my congrats go out to the Broncos. There's always next season. I just love football period, gonna go thru a depression here real shortly after the super bowl, I think football should be a year round sport to keep the football fanatics like me happy.
Gonna be a great week, a new workout planned. I will share with you once I complete it, but for now it's top secret. Hope everyone has a great week.

This blog is by special request. An SP buddy said she missed knowing what I was up to, so here goes.....
The doctor released me from Physical Therapy. He said I was doing everything right and to keep doing the exercises he gave me, but NO running. He said NO IMPACT from running and to make the Eliptical my new best friend.
Well... My sister has a new Nordic Track at home that has hardly been used, so last night I decided it was time to get off the tushy and get busy. I did a 30-minute workout, ugghhh, can we say BOR INGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG. But, it is better than sitting on my tushy, so I have made a committment to do it five times a week and slowly work in the strength training. I think my patience is definitely being tested since no exercise that I've tried that I can now do gives you the major calorie burn that running does, so it's going to take a lot of effort and a lot more time spent on the Nordic Track and walking on the treadmill, aka "dreadmill". Again.... boooorrrr inggggggg.
I didn't want to push it last night since it was my first day "back at it" and since I am recovering from an awful head cold that I developed on NYE, spent all the NY weekend in bed with a headache, clogged sinsus and chest congestion, ICK. The leg and hip held up pretty good. I did do all my stretching exercises afterward and applied the trusty ole ice pack, just as a precaution. I'm happy to report that I am OK this morning, I was a little worried, lol.
I started logging in my food again "FAITHFULLY" on Tuesday. Did ok, but yesterday went over by 25 calories, darm those Hershey Kisses, but I finished them off so as not to tempt me today, haa haa. All the holiday candy and goodies are now gone from the house - YEAH !!!! So no excuses now.
I believe that this year is going to be a real challenge for me in a lot of areas, but guess what????? I'M READY. GAME ON.
