Maxie Joins Our Family

On Saturday, Feb. 2, we welcomed a new member of our family- little Max! He is a beautiful silver brindle color, a bundle of energy- and has the best personality! He will make the perfect walking companion for me as I work toward my "10,000 steps a day every day" goal. Our eight chihuahuas are taking their time in welcoming him into their pack, but I think his personality will win them over.

Milestone: Perfect Seven Days

I've just completed my first PERFECT seven days on my new program. Eating all the right foods, not making harmful food choices, drinking 8 glasses of water a day and getting some kind of meaningful exercise resulted in a Week 1 weight loss of 4.2 pounds!

So- I got my first reward. I bought a new Omron Pedometer (love those!) and this one has a USB connection and software to track my progress. Oh, I love charts and graphs! :-)

A New Beginning

The sun is shining, and it's a brand new day. I've been following my new Jenny Craig program to the T for a bit over a week now, and the number on the scale dropped. Yay! My walking program is off the ground, with a goal of at least three 20-minute walks during this next week. I set up all of my SparkPeople information, journals, trackers, etc. So I'm off to a great start!

Yes, I have some issues to address. The first is motivation. I am excited about getting off my butt and doing something about my health, but I can't help but think of the progress I had made two years ago, and then blew. Sigh.

No use crying over spilled milk. We are where we are. But at least if we do something today, then tomorrow we will not still be here. Fall down- get up!
