DOT 60 Day Challenge FInal

Friday, April 12, 2013

Wow, this was a great challnge to get me motivated, now to focus on my Memorial Day Challenge and getting ready for the Global Race for Cure on May 11th.

I ended up with a overall 5.2 pound or 2.2% weight loss. Not too bad. As expected the first and second place winners were guys. The winner in both categories lost 50.8 pounds for a 16.7% loss -incredable. He barely nudged out the second place winner at 49.4 and 15.8%.

DOT Challenge - Last Week

Tuesday, April 09, 2013

Wow, this is my last week in the challenge. Did I loose alot of weigh - don't think so. Did I gain huge benefits from it - YES. I am back on track with my exercise. Eating is within calorie range for most days (eating out and Easter Candy were biggest factors when I went out). Water is still a work in progress as well as including more veggies/fruits, but I am so much more aware of what I am putting into my body.

In addition to increased motivation I am seeing changes in my body! I have more energy and everyday I can go farther and faster on Treadmill, walking or Elliptical. I am also finding the weights I lift easer each time I strength train. My waist or area above the waist doesn't stick out farther then the "ladies" and I can actually see some muscles in arms and legs!

With three days to go, I am already counting this a sucess!

Memorial Day Challenge

Sunday, March 31, 2013

The DOT challenge ends in the middle of April and I don't want to loose momentum so I'm setting a Memorial Day Challenge. So far Jim has signed up for it and I'm hoping to get the kids involved too - we can all loose weight.

Lower Arm: 11 Final 10.75

Calf: 17.25 Final 17.25

Goal: loose minumum of 1.5 pounds a week for the 9 weeks or 13.5 pounds putting me at 212.5 pounds.

Jim's Start: 259.6 Jim's Final: 256.4
Jim's Goal: 2 pounds a week or 18 pounds 241.6 pounds

Final Update: Well I was doing excellent until the last two weeks, Down to 219 lb. Then gained back to 225 with bad eating choices/stress from my daughter being in hospital. Positive - I am striving forward with a new 2 month challenge and I lost and inch on my thigh and hip and 1/2 inch on waist!

DOT Challenge Update

Sunday, March 31, 2013

I feel like I am on track during the week - managing calorie intake and getting in exercising. Eating out on the weekends and not making time for exercise is much more of a challenge. So that is going to be this weeks challenge - getting a place in place or the weekend.

My water is low so that will be next weeks goal as well.

Good new - home scale was 26.0 which is a 1.8 pound loss from the previous week - yea!
