He is my Strength

Sunday, February 12, 2012

Please pray for me.

God has given me a big job to handle this week. I know He is my strength and my source of wisdom and discernment. I just need to stay tapped into Him and not allow myself to get derailed or overwhelmed.

Praising Him in the midst of a great opportunity to be used of Him. To God be the glory, because I would certainily never taken on this task on my own!

The Serenity Prayer for Weight Loss

Thursday, January 12, 2012

Came across this on another sparkpage and just had to copy it. It is too good to lose.

The Serenity Prayer for Weight Loss

God grant me the Serenity
To Make good food Choices;
Courage to turn away from baked goods;
And energy to exercise daily.
Living Healthy one day at a time;
Enjoying my Journey;
Accepting that the road to Wellness can be hard;
Taking the tools of better eating out into the World
As I should, free from the bad habits of the past;
Trusting that making wise decisions today will pay off tomorrow;
If I Surrender to my Will
I will not beat myself up in this Life and the Next
But I will remember that this is a life long Journey;
A Journey that is well Worth every Pound Lost.

You have to be creative!

Wednesday, January 11, 2012

So my walking buddy and I are really trying to get out and walk every weekday morning. We have had to skip a couple times due to previously scheduled appointments and such. But we don't want to miss unnecessarily.

It's been really cold most mornings here lately and sometimes quite windy. But still we bundle up, leash the dogs and get with it. Today was threatening a cold rain. And I just couldn't quite see walking in it. So . . . . .

. . . . . we went to Walmart! emoticon I'm sure we didn't walk quite as fast as through the neighborhood. You don't want to be running into other shoppers. But we each got a buggy, loaded it up with bottled drinks, and large bags of bird seed and pet food and made our way throughout the whole store.

We walked for a good hour, when I could drag her away from the shoes and toys. Then we returned the items we did not intend to buy, checked out and loaded the car with the things we did buy. Of course I had to carry them in once I returned home as well.

I know it wasn't a normal morning walk, but I think it was better than sleeping through the rain!

Walk, walk, walk!

Monday, January 09, 2012

Love the fact that the Lord gave me a walking buddy. We motivate one another in all manner of ways. We walk and we talk. We talk and we walk. And my two doggies are so excited to see her drive up each morning because they know it means they get to walk with us!

The best part, aside from all the great benefits from walking on a regular basis, is coming in and putting our walk onto the fitness map. I love to be able to map our route and know exactly how far we have walked, how fast we walked and how many calories we burned.

Yes, I do like measurable goals! And I am so thankful that the Lord knew i needed someone to get me out there again so I would have something to track! LOL!

New Year, New Me

Sunday, January 01, 2012

Wow, as I look forward to this new year I see so many new opportunities set before me.

The first is that I am goimg to try to make more of an effort to get back on the computer and be more active on SparkPeople. I have been a bit lax over this past year and I want to change that.

I have recently introduced a new friend to spark and we are committed to working the program together. We are meeting five mornings a week to walk or workout, so this is huge. I really do much better when I have someone to buddy up with and keep me accountable. We have some other things we are working on together also, such as Bible study and personal growth.

This is definitely a win/win situation for both of us!

Thank you Lord for providing just what I needed when I needed it!

I hoope to blog about some of my other interesting opportunities as I progress along my journey!

To be continued . . ..

    I do not have anyone in person to take this journey with but every month or so Kendra (JUSTDUCKY1405) coordinates a two week Facebook challenge that keeps us accountable every day. Sure makes it easier knowing we have others to track our progress with. Wishing you much success and happiness this year. -- Lou
