Church Pups

Tuesday, October 08, 2013

emoticon Last Sunday our church held services at Brackenridge Park in San Antonio. emoticon It was a beautiful day. emoticon We took the fur kids and they were really well behaved. emoticon They sat quiet and still for the entire service. emoticon It was a great morning but after the sermon we had a picnic. emoticon I had a hamburger and half a hot dog and got sick. emoticon I forgot my body doesn't process simple carbs very well. I think the white bread got me. emoticon It slowed me down emoticon and I was pretty much down for the count the rest of the day. emoticon It made me frustrated but at least I got to rest. I'll hang on to that sick feeling to remind me why I NEED to eat healthy at ALL times emoticon
emoticon Before the sermon we walked the dogs so the day wasn't a total fitness DAY lost. emoticon

The kids are lovely. It's a good thing your body rebelled - it's letting you know it has changed and so have you. When my body rebels I know I am sick (seriously sick) and not just an upset stomach. I need a more sensitive stomach.

What cute pics of the pups! I've been to Brackenridge Park before--it brought back some fond memories! Glad you had a good day (except for the carbs).

    SO CUTE!!!

I know that sick feeling all too well. I try to keep remembering that when I'm tempted to overeat. Sometime it works, sometimes not.

Sounds like a great day!

Love the pups! White bread gets my sugar out of balance as well. I always try and carry some wheat bread with me when possible! Loving this weather!

I'm back baby!

Monday, October 07, 2013

Hi sparkfriends! Things have calmed down some at work so I'm back.

I had kinda of a set back. My arm had opened up again. I just had surgery on it in July. I thought all last week I was just being lazy but it turns out I was getting sick. I have a doctors
appointment on wednesday to try and see if he can fix it. I hope so. I have way too much stuff
to do this October to be sidelined by this.

October Schedule Revised
Texas Renaissance festival near Houston
Walking Dead Premier at the Palladium
St Paulís Fall Festival
Gospel Lunch at the cove
Ghostbusters Quote-a-long
Albertís (hubby) Birthday
Alamo City Comic Con
Young Frankenstein showing at slab cinema at Brackenridge Park
My Moms Birthday
San Antonio Zombie Walk
South Texas St. Paul Corn Maize Trip
St. Paul Alter Guild Meeting
Rally de los Muertos

Hope your arm is not a setback to exercise. Just when you thought you had it going on here comes Mr. setback. But you set him back in his place.

What has been your biggest accomplishment today?

Thursday, October 03, 2013

My biggest accomplishment today is going to the gym. I took 2 days "off" to rest. I almost took 3 but I'm back baby! Feels good!

I got my bag packed with a healthy breakfast, lunch and snacks for work. I will have my five freggies in before dinner as well as my 8 cups of water! Score!

Congrats on getting to the gym. A rest day or two is necessary so your muscles build back up stronger after each workout!

"You need a rest" - Body

Tuesday, October 01, 2013

Work has been really stressful and it isn't going to let up until November! We have an overload of new hires and our auditing workload has increased. I was feeling great till about noon when I started feeling really sick, tired and dizzy. I'm not sure if it's my stress, allergies, anxiety or other health issues but my body basically told me "You need a rest". So I'm not going to fight it. I'm taking a rest day today and possible tomorrow. I've learned to pick my battles when it comes to my body. Sometimes its good to fight back and other times its good to listen to it. Kinda like marriage. LOL!

emoticon How do you know when it's a good time to take a rest day? emoticon

Rest is part of the programme. I know last week or was it week before last (time flies) I was really busy at work and then exercising in the morning - I was literally sleep running. I was developing some strange symptoms. Things are returning to normal and I don't have those symptoms but I did get some good rest on the weekend.
