so when it came to being healthy this week i kinda failed.. i was doing alright until tuesday when i had quizno's, then wednesday i had cheesecake factory, thursday, friday, and saturday i barely ate anything all day until late at night when i had lots of bad carbs and refined sugars...and yesterday my parents were in town so we went out for pizza.. today my best friend just moved back and we're going shopping all day out of town.
so on that note.. this week is the week that everyone moves back for school. im gonna try my hardest to get a workout in every day. i think i've got only 5 weeks until the 10 mile race. 8 i think until the half marathon. yikes! so i need to start getting on top of my long runs like asap! im not gonna beat myself up for going to eat or having a drink. i gotta live this week when everyone is first moving back to party. try and eat as clean as possible when i can.
that's my plan for when school starts up too. eat as clean as possible and try to not drink a lot. but i'm still gonna be going out and not staying at my place all the time 24/7. i am looking into getting a small fridge for my "office" in studio on campus. that way i'll always have stocked some clean meals. studio lasts for 5 hours, 12:30 - 5:30pm.. which means i'll need to eat twice during that class! a big change because i never eat at all. i used to eat really fast after i got off work at 12:20 before going to class and then not eating until 7p or later.. with trips to the vending machine for junk.
not the plan this year! i will do this. it's gonna be tough though because i start serving at a new restaurant next week and i won't be able to eat during that at all because they are super busy! i will just have to be prepared..
i'm going in to weigh myself in a bit. i'll edit this tonight with my weight. i hope the damage isn't that bad.

Alright.. tonight after I got home after buying a few new shirts i took a good long look at myself in the mirror. Now even though I weigh the same as the 140-143ish i weighed way back in february, i have to admit, i look different. The last 2-3 weeks of trying to eat clean have made a difference in my body. I really like the changes and I see them.
The last 2 days, I haven't ate very well at all. Yesterday, I went to Quizno's with a friend for lunch, and today I went to the Cheesecake factory for the first time ever and definitely ate lots of amazing (but very fattening) food. Now as soon as my leftover's are gone, I am going to get back on the eat clean bus because my body really liked it. I'm starting to see more muscle definition in my legs and I can see my ribs in my stomach for the first time ever! The diet is not hard at all, as long as I keep my fridge stocked with healthy foods and I always have something to eat that I can make up quickly. I'm going to buy a mini-fridge and keep it by my desk on campus so I will always have healthy, clean food to eat on campus that's only a few minutes walk away from wherever I am. So no more making stops at the campus cafe's or gorging my face on the buffets at the dining halls.
My body likes this diet. I really like the changes I'm seeing. 2 of my friends that I haven't seen since early June also said that it looks like i've lost a little bit more weight, which of course is good to hear! Today I tried on 2 pairs of khaki pants from Hollister when I was there and the 7's fit just fine in the waist... but my butt and thighs were busting out of them. no worries just not my fit. i'm short and i have muscular legs. i like them that way and i like my butt. i was very happy that 7's fit though. that's a new number for me! i think about a month of eating clean, no drinking, and exercising right will get me into those size 6s in my closet.
and today, when i was shopping, anytime i saw my reflection in the storefront glass i didn't see a fat body staring back at me.. i'm looking much better than i used to. also, i tried a new product today that i kinda need to rave about! loreal sublime bronze self-tanning lotion in medium skin tone is fantastic! i put it on this morning after i got out of the shower, i look fairly darker and it's a great natural looking tan. no streaks or spots anywhere that i see. i really like the color of it. and much healthier (not to mention cheaper) than paying for tanning minutes! i'll probably put it on about 2 more times before classes start back up again. atleast one more time before my best friend moves back on sunday. make it look like i got an awesome tan this summer!
so tomorrow starts back up with clean eating. i will probably take pictures before classes start in 10 days. i never did my 10 mile run today. i don't know why but i just kinda psyched myself out for it. i will tackle it soon. im hating running outdoors now because its so darn hot! we got hit with a huge heat wave and it's pretty killer.. so humid too! yuck.. i can't wait until it goes away. i hate iowa during the summer.. and the winter too for that matter.

today was a complete disaster when it came down to my nutrition. i didn't even break 1,000 calories.. it was all junk pretty much. it started out alright. i ate the last of my egg whites for breakfast today. on the bright side, i had a good, normal breakfast...i still drank 8 glasses of water and got my full workout in..
i had an on-the-spot interview at red lobster which kinda took 20 minutes of my time that i had planned for eating lunch. i got my workout done at the gym, but didn't have time to really eat lunch before work, nor pack a dinner. poor planning. yes, i know. so i tried to eat as much of the chicken breast i already had made, but in 5 minutes i barely ate half a serving.
i didn't have a chance to eat dinner at work until after 9pm. no money at all, so i split a meal with another girl. which meant she picked the meal. i only ate half of the appetizer trio so it wasn't a ridiculous amount of calories but it was a lot of fat and grease that i'm not used to. it was good, but it wasn't great. and my stomach started to hurt after i ate it. i'm super bloated and very thirsty right now, i relate that to all the sodium content in the food. over 1,000mg just from that dinner alone.. it'll go away soon.
i really like how my body reacted to the bad food. it wasn't awesome. i wasn't craving it. in fact, i'm completely fine not eating something like that for a good, long while. more changes i'm noticing from clean eating. im starting to maybe feel and see the physical ones too! back on top of a healthy, clean day tomorrow. and yoga in the morning. woohoo.

ok so week 2 didn't go over very well but this week will! because i've got nothing else to do! i will do it all! and i plan on swimming and tanning like everyday! it's gonna be super hot and really sunny! must do long run!

Speed Workout: 7 miles total; 1.5 mile warm-up, pyramid runs 400, 800, 1200, 1600, 1200, 800, 400 @ 6.7 mph with 2, 3, 4, 5, 4, 3 minute recovery walk @ 3 mph, then 0.3 mile cool-down - 800 calories
[Speed Workout: 7 miles total... the 1600 and second 1200 were pretty hard, but i didn't quit.. the last 400 seemed like cake. ran the faster parts at 6.7 (9 min/mile) and walked the recovery anywhere from 3.0-3.5 mph, not sure how long or how many calories, i accidentally pulled on the emergency stop magnet twice..i guessing around 800]

60 min Yoga - 150 calories
45 min Lower Body + Abs - 150 calories
[didn't go to yoga in the morning, had an impossible night of sleep. finally fell asleep around 9am so i skipped it to sleep. did my HIIT workout. it went fabulous. 2.9 miles in 30 minutes. 313 calories. plus 45 minutes of lower body and ab strength training. felt good!]
