Another glass of wine?

Thursday, April 15, 2010

Hubby on dinner duty tonight; his first and my first in our new lifestyle..... left him shrimp taco recipe posted on fridge door before heading out to work; his day off before he starts a 7 day shift/24 hr on call... barely see him once its starts..... he was MIA all day......not expecting much.... walked in house to find dinner table set and food ready to be served.... a bottle of red wine, sushi, shrimp tacos and broccoli salad my personal fav....which probably very high in calories but quite pleased he only served 1/4 c in small dipping bowl... impressed that he has paid attention and adapting my newest secret.... I have started buying and serving our meals on smaller plates and dishes some really meant for dipping sauces... believe it or not when there is a little of something in small bowls vs everything on one plate; you actually feel like you are having more.

I am so full..... Thanksgiving dinner full....Not feeling guilty - heheh - comforting to know that I am still within my calorie count that is unless I have yet another glass of wine....

Moderation is a great trick to learn..because you can still enjoy a little extra of some fun foods.

Cheers! emoticon

4everhopeful

Tuesday, April 13, 2010

I am 4evehopeful. Started this process at the heaviest I have ever been in my life - 150 lbs.
Motivation: Want to hit my 50s feeling fun & flirty versus fat & frumpy!

Have kept 10 lbs off that I have lost during the month of January 2010 but it seems like I have been at a standstill since then! I have a reached a plateau and it seems like I have been here forever! Want to break this never ending cycle. Whenever I start to loose a little 5-7 pounds and am within 10 lbs of my goal weight I seem to gain it right back :(

I think my main problem has been dieting! I have been on a diet all my life; when I want to lose weight will restrict myself for 2-3 weeks which is great cause I can loose the weight; but because I don't know how to eat normally or in moderation; I gain it all back just as fast!

Have just started using the spark tools (now that I have access to internet) and find they are wonderful. Especially the food tracker! Now I can see how many calories I am consuming and navigate my meals in order to stay within daily calorie limit. Find this extremely helpful especially when there are social functions that one really has to attend. Cause lets face it the world doesn't stop just because I am on a diet :)

Really praying that SP will make the difference in meeting my weight loss goal.

Picked up a pedometer today and will start using it tomorrow. Will be curious to see how many steps I do in 1 day.

Goals for next 2 weeks:

1. stay within 1200 calories per day
2. 5,000 steps per day
3. 8 cups of water per day

Signing off as if I don't never will get my dinner started; crustless quiche, and its already 7:30 pm... time really does go by far too fast

Have a great day everyone
