I jogged 55 minutes on the elliptical and went 3.27 miles. I tried not to look at the clock today. I only looked down at the display in between songs. I think it did make the time go by faster, but I didn't go as fast. I got my workout done EARLY this morning between 6:30 and 7:30 because I needed to leave at 8:30 to take my 9-year-old to orchestra. Busy, busy....I miss sleeping in on Saturdays!
I'm not sure if I can jog next week. I seem to be having injuries. One of my big toemails is purple and the other one hurts really bad and I am afraid it is going to end up the same way. And now I have a quarter-sized blister on the pad of my right heel and can hardly stand to put ANY weight on it at all. I don't want to keep jogging if that is going to make all these injuries worse. My heel pain is so bad I can hardly hobble around. Sigh. Has anyone else had this type of heel pain before? Do you think I need new shoes? We don't really have the money right now, but I hate to have to give up my exercise indefinitely. I hate injuries. You think you are just sailing along having a great time and then you have to watch it all fall apart. I am finally to the 60 minutes six days a week as of Monday, which was my ultimate goal.

I jogged 55 minutes on the elliptical today. I changed up my routine. I jogged hard for 30 minutes and then did the last 25 minutes in intervals. I would go at a medium pace for 3/4 of a lap and then push hard for the last 1/4 of the lap every time I went around. I was SO WORN OUT by the time I got done. It just felt completely different than it usually does. I still averaged 3.5 mph overall and went 3.27 miles today. I wasn't worried about my distance though. I just wanted to try the intervals and see how it went. Phew, that is a HARD workout!
Today my girls are starting their dance class again. They are cloggers which is a really fun dance style kind of a mix of tap and irish dancing. It LOOKS fun, but I am not nearly coordinated enough to do it. My 12-year-old is in the advanced class and she is really fun to watch. Have a great Friday evening SparkFriends!
I jogged 55 minutes on the elliptical and went 3.37 miles! Another personal best! I am just so proud of myself. My workout went GREAT today. I was able to push HARD (3.7 mph) for the entire first half of my workout and then averaged greater than 3.6 mph for the second half. Phew. I didn't know I could do that!
Well, today my 4-year-old is having her first cello lesson. I hope it goes well. Her teacher said that she would just take it a lesson at a time for a while to see if Annalise is mature enough for music lessons. I think she will do great if she likes her teacher. I jogged 55 minutes on the elliptical and went 3.33 miles! That is another personal best. Woohoo! I had a good workout today. Also, I lost 2 pounds this week! Yay!
I have determined that what I really like about the elliptical is the fact that it is no impact. I was talking to a MUCH SMALLER friend of mine who runs outside around her neighborhood and she said that the constant bouncing of her hips and impact on her knees bothered her a lot . I'm glad I don't have any of those problems on the elliptical since it is a very fluid movement. I might no be burning as many calories as I would really running, but at this weight I think I need the no impact workout. Once I lose the weight I would like to get more comfortable running outside and sign up for some 5k races. But for now the elliptical is just fine!
Wednesdays are now my favorite day of the week because they are my "home day." It is the only day we don't have some place to be this semester. Thank goodness! I need one day a week to just stay home and get stuff done. Have a great evening SparkFriends!
